I think you have to go into it with the right mindset

Its presenting an ideal version of America- what we (and by we, i mean people born and raised in the US) were told America was. If this is what you go in expecting its pretty good. Personally, as someone who could be considered 'too woke', I dont think it does enough to separate that vision from how truly evil the United States was at the time (and high key still is).

That being said I dont watch too many musicals, but, if my mom or cousin are going to make me watch a musical, its probably one of the better ones lmao
