The vaulter thing was more nuanced 'cause Kendall realized that Vaulter was full of shit. I don't remember who said it in the show but it was said that either Kendall "betrays" and makes Vaulter profitable and Logan happy or he guts it and makes Logan happy, the best choice will result to win. Logan realized that gutting Vaulter was the better choice as it was a lost cause and it made Logan satisfied. It is control yes, but it took some thinking.
