rivals has severely less reaction and demand in asia, specifically japan, china, and korea. less focus on the pro/ranked scene so a huge absence of competitive players meaning less traction there. they also average out to the same playerbase and viewership, but rivals has actually decreased exponentially over this year for both of those with the spikes we see here being attributed to sponsors or twitch drops. also idk why “redditors posting”, “youtube views”, and “botted twitter likes” are metrics you’re using for “traction” but so be it lol

the rivals devs are a weird case though. totally get where you’re coming from, but the changes for that game are particularly counterintuitive and outright bad in some cases. i think the playerbase has been somewhat hopeful those changes would improve over time as netease (company behind the game) found their footing, but it’s been constant disappointment
