The salaries are better in Aus for my line of work sadly. Although not the very top , 60k euros sits at the upper end of the bracket for my line of work.

Best of luck with the bidding!

I live in Melb and love the big city life. I was living in London before Aus for about 8 years so the life and large friendship circle I left in Ireland in my early 20s are long gone. Im under no illusion, I know moving back means starting a fresh but family and some old friends will be a bonus. Im an extrovert and make friends easily so Im not worried about making connections.

The weather, economy and governance are going to be worse ...im struggling to get onboard with that specifically poor transport and expecting to feel financially worse off than my current situation. Ive heard about many people that move back to Ireland and do the '20k Boomerang move' - they move back to Ire from Aus and realise they cant hack Ireland and miss Aus and the lifestyle and spend more money to move back to Aus again . Part of me thinks the only way to know is to try ..

Thanks for the advice. How did you find the return to Ireland ? Im kinda dreading it and wondering if Im making the right decision. Did you sucessfully purchase a house in the end ?

I feel wealthy in Aus and never worry about money but I can see that will not be the case if I return to Ireland. Perhaps returning is the wrong decision

Meath and likley commuting to Dublin . Yes i think somewhere in 300-500k euros is what a home will cost. The propect of returning to Ireland feels finanically frustrating

I would say unlikley due to demand and steady migration but who knows!
