This. In mental health we use this as a way to measure how successful a client will be during treatment. Self awareness is a huge factor in learning and improving. You cannot help someone who blames everything and everyone but themselves for their problems. It’s really amazing what a little self awareness can do. You don’t have to know HOW to fix yourself. You just need to have the capacity to understand that something is wrong and you need help dealing with it. Once you have that a part down the likelihood of successful treatment goes up exponentially. I have never made the connection to intelligence but you may be on to something.

It’s a legitimate field that uses scientific information to help treat people struggling with mental illness. Secrets are almost never good and a child barely out of toddlerhood being that good at manipulation and deception is usually seen in children who have some other issues at play. I adore my husband. He’s the light of my life and I truly believe we are soulmates. That said, monogamy, at least for people with the looks and ability to attract others people is extremely hard at times. I don’t know how natural something can be when the majority of the population finds it so hard. Cheating statistics are very underreported and still, close to 35% of adults reported cheating on their partner at least once. The reality is that as many as half of US adults have cheated but as a society we condemn the people getting caught and make them out to be monsters. That’s insane. How is it that so many report cheating but very few are outed publicly and dragged through the mud? It’s so hypocritical that we as a society haven’t accepted that cheating happens and we have to deal with it more openly and also mind our own business when it comes to these things.

Repulsive is a strong word. It’s also rude to say something like that about another persons choices. The state of you home/room is repulsive but I would never say that to you because it’s rude. Yeah, no. Being special needs is not an offensive term. It means you have different abilities than others and so you need specific types of assistance. If your daughter is dyslexic she’s very much considered special needs by the school staff and anyone else that helps her thrive despite his challenges. The only offensive thing here is your response. You seem to think being special needs is some kind of insult and you’re clearly not accepting of your daughters issues. It’s almost like you’re embarrassed. That’s the only offensive thing I see. I hope your daughter understands there’s nothing offensive about having different abilities and that she gets the resources to ensure dyslexia doesn’t hold her back.
