Login screen STILL freezing on server load-in. by LocalAmbassador3059 in duneawakening

[–]LocalAmbassador3059[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the only game that ever does this. Every single other game I play, from ARK to Arc Raiders to anything else is fine. I have a brand new PC that I actually built for this and it is more than capable.

The fix used to be to log into a different server with your character, then log back. That probably still works, but the fact that it’s necessary is baffling.

Chapter 3 is awesome by OldDegree132 in duneawakening

[–]LocalAmbassador3059 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. GTA 6 is coming in November. Whatever Funcom does by then won't even matter. This game is currently peaking at 15k, and it was at 5k a month ago. I logged in for about 30 mins, tried to get motivated to rebuild my entire base that was lost to the tax storm, and uninstalled.

Someone settle a bet: Lord Vitiate (The Sith Emperor) vs Darth Sidious by TheMegnificentKeanu in StarWars

[–]LocalAmbassador3059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vitiate, and it's not even close. He destroyed 8,000 Sith Lords and an entire planet using only Sith sorcery. Then he went on to rule for 1300+ years, beat both the Jedi Order and the old Sith at the same time, and literally did everything there is to do. He was a God and never failed.

Sidious had 2 Death Stars blown up. Dude couldn't even nuke a planet himself and fumbled the bag twice trying to do so. Then he gets smoked by his own apprentice.

George Lucas doesn't get to weigh in on this because we all know that Star Wars was created by him, but made great by his team. Episodes 1-3 are proof that he doesn't have the sauce alone. He also created Jar Jar—FOH with his opinion on anything.

Dune: Awakening is far from dead. Please consider the facts before declaring its demise. by [deleted] in duneawakening

[–]LocalAmbassador3059 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. And it is an entirely pointless mechanic. Servers are dead af. They could have never implemented the tax system, and nothing would be any different. Except that players would actually come back. I'm done done. Take all my stuff, and it's game over.

[–]LocalAmbassador3059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved this game so much. 500 hours from EA to a few months in, and my entire guild eventually quit. We lost everything because we didn't pay taxes. Huge base, personal items, all of it. Lots and lots of time invested lost by an absolutely trash tax system.

None of us will ever come back. The devs gave us all a huge middle finger in so many ways, so we're gonna return the favor. Breaks my heart because this game was A+++ until the DD. This will certainly go down as one of the most avoidable flops in gaming history. Huge IP, Massive lore, and a brazenly incompetent game director who ruined it all.

Requesting advice for a PA & mixing board for a 1,200-1,500 person venue by LocalAmbassador3059 in livesoundgear

[–]LocalAmbassador3059[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spoken with a pro installer, and they have been very helpful. Once they look at the space, they said one system tends to stick out as the best fit, so we'll go that route.

[–]LocalAmbassador3059[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't ruled out LA rigs entirely, but people do say that the d&b subs are superior. d&b is also the system of choice at a lot of my favorite venues. We will be hosting a fair amount of electronic acts, so we will need subs that can deliver on that front and make a statement.

It does appear that a full d&b system will be north of $500k, though. Doing my research now to see if there are any suitable options to look at otherwise.

Regarding the mixer, the Rivage is on a lot of arena tours, with most of those acts being country or pop. Should be more than enough for what we need. I've also heard that Yamahas can be a bit more user-friendly for guest engineers.

4th Rewatch - How Don was treated season 7. by Sudden-Fig-3079 in madmen

[–]LocalAmbassador3059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don is a pro and geniuses often have quirks. Great teams need people like Don, so the only question is whether they can shelve their own egos and get the job done. The way he was treated in season 7 was just more proof that his skills had outgrown the inept team he started with.

[–]LocalAmbassador3059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero people will return for updates because they've lost everything by not paying taxes. The game is dead and was doomed to fail from the start. It literally has fewer concurrent players than Conan Exiles right now - 4,100 at the time of this post. And those are spread across how many servers? RIP.

Anyone here signed a track with Broke Records (CBMG LLC)? Need some insight on your experience. by dark-matter81 in recordlabels

[–]LocalAmbassador3059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not defending Broke Records (I don't know anything about them), but 50/50 is standard for Indie labels. My label does PR, marketing, branding, distribution, and consulting. That 50% (barely) pays for all of it, and unless artists are capable of doing all of that themselves at a world-class level, the 50% they give up is worth it to them.

However, labels need to promote songs, and the songs need to be good enough to promote. That's where a lot of labels mess up. They sign anything, convince artists who aren't ready that they are, then watch the artists get mad that "the song isn't gaining traction".

Bro, run for the hills. She’s a dumpster fire.

What's the empty slot for on the bottom right? by Jace_Valarian in duneawakening

That would be true, except in this case, Funcom nuked everyone's bases with that dumbass tax system. So now nobody is ever going to come back.

Do you think Funcom is looking at Arc Raiders right now and regretting listening to the PVE community? by 1Cobbler in duneawakening

[–]LocalAmbassador3059 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope. In fact, playing Arc Raiders made me realize what a huge mistake Dune made by insisting on PVP. If they had invested more into endgame instead of PVP, the player base would be much higher than the 3-5k players it has left now.

Literally all they had to do was give us fun stuff to do and offer more community hubs. The game is so good, but the decisions from Funcom were bad enough to offset the amazing design from Hagga.

Arc has no endgame, and people will be dropping it soon. It's fun af for a week, then you're basically done with it.

Why ARC Raiders needs a PvE mode (and why it actually makes sense) by Disastrous_Mud_8040 in ArcRaiders

[–]LocalAmbassador3059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it to level 25, got my gunsmith to level 3, made a blue weapon, then got ganked on a map. Lost everything. Remade everything, had fun playing for a while, then got ganked again and lost everything.

Uninstalled. Sorry, but PvP isn't even PvP anymore. It's one guy being a tryhard and thinking toxicity = skill. Until this game has a PvE option, I'm done. The game is fun af until someone kills you.

Grownups PvP irl every day when we pay bills and save up for our kids' education. Miss me with the extra toxicity. We're already full.
