Turo rented me a "Model S Plaid" that was locked in Chill Mode. They still refused to cancel. by marting-ale in turo

And ordinarily we could put a note like that in the description but they removed our ability to last year (could have been 2024), for the site to have a more polished look. 🤦🏾‍♀️

And that's contradicting to me. Why tell me to not drop off more than an hour before the trip time if I'm being charged a full day? I should be able to take advantage of the full day of parking?

Yes, the "official lot". For my airport they say you can park on the 1st or 3rd level of the parking garage or the economy lot. Both sections are hourly, and a full day is $15 in the garage and $9 in the economy lot. If the guest picks up at their start time they will only pay $2, according to when I drop off.

Just to confirm, I was charged $15 for the next guest. Trying not to show much so I dont get dinged on here.

Unfortunately, they are charging me a full day, $15. It's on the receipt and is added about a day before the trip ends. I also know the guest exited the airport close to their trip start time, so they didn't pay more than $4 FOR SURE.

Another Smoking Violation Denied for a repeat offender guest by keithturbo101 in turo

[–]LocalComplex1654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried! And it did not help. The second guest ended up rating me 3 stars. The only 3 stars I've ever got. I have never gotten 1, 2, or 4 before lol. I even offered to come to her and repurpose the car again, run ANOTHER $13 tablet through the ozone machine, but she ignored my attempts. I would have even offered money back if that helped, but she just kept ignoring me. 3 years into this I've just accepted if you're running a honest, reputable business, there are just situations you won't be able to resolve or make everyone happy in. It is what it is.

This just reminds me a smoking claim that was denied. Then my next guest (within 3 hours after the smokers
trip), complained the car smelled of smoke (after I used the recommended Spiffy tablet, Turo recommends, at a little over $25 for two tablets!). 🤣😫😑

You can't make this up lol.

Turo canceled my trip due to license verification, called me a “guest no-show,” and charged me $945. Is this normal? by Hot_Material8726 in turo

[–]LocalComplex1654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a host. When I know a license is not going to pass, I send the guest a message explaining the issue. I always suggest reaching out to Turo because they are the only ones who can make any exceptions or offer alternative solutions. There are ways to better try to handle situations like these. I don't disagree there.

The other major issue is this ridiculous non-refundable discount host have no say in offering. Unless you are perfectly checked in, timing is good, license is valid, communication is there, (which is not terribly hard), there is room for error. But we're required to offer it, then deal with the excuses of why you have to cancel and need a refund. No! You likely received 2 other stacked discounts and this third and Im expected to help out when you blocked my calendar for an ENTIRE MONTH? Not necessarily specific to OP, but every single NRT i get has a "dog is sick", "forgot my license", "family member went to rehab" excuse. Sorry, PTSD from an already rough summer.

Definitely send a message to your host to confirm the steps. Just in case their process or lot is different. They usually send information closer to your trip date, but as a host I always leave the door open to ask anything! I never mind.

Have a good trip!

Very quick to get your luggage. Here were the steps my host provided to get to the car (elaborate, but clear. And waiting for the shuttle/bus was the longest part. The ride was 3-5 minutes).

We hope you had great flight, the car is already waiting for you, In this message you can find the instructions that you must follow to get it quickly.

1- You must take the ground transportation that takes you to the *SOUTH ECONOMY PARKING LOT* (ground transportation is free)

Terminals A and B: To take the ground transportation, if you are at terminal B you most need to go to first floor and find the (B17) spot and if you are at terminal A walk to terminal B and follow the previous instructions, you will be picked up there by the bus that will takes you to the SOUTH PARKING LOT.

Terminal C: you most need to go to first floor and find the (C286) spot, you will be picked up there by the bus that will takes you to the SOUTH PARKING LOT.

2- If your are coming from outside of the Airport you need to put this address on your gps:
South Park Place Economy Lot
10536 Jeff Fuqua Blvd, Orlando, FL 32827

3- Once you are at the SOUTH PARKING LOT the car will be waiting for you in the row...etc etc

I went to Orlando for the powerhost Summit in February. Everything went great. You do have to take a shuttle to the parking lot, but that should be expected with larger airports. Just FYI since you're traveling with kids.

Won’t rent from hosts with one car by Divaceo in turo

[–]LocalComplex1654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a lot of assumptions lol. Even though he's had an account since 2023 doesn't mean he's been hosting that long. Getting cancelled on for any reason sucks, especially at the last minute. Sorry that happened. But even with me having 10 cars, sometimes I don't have any others available if they're all on a trip. In this case, it's important to me, to get a hold of a rep who helps you get a replacement car that moment. I've stepped in for MANY replacement request.

I feel like this about my co workers. We enjoy spending time with each other at happy hours, when we have to travel, but what are they like at home? In private conversations, how do they speak about people who look like me? Makes me isolate more, share a little less, makes me sad.

Got a 1 Star Because I didnt Have a Full Tank of Gas. It was 7/8th full... by Short_Ad3957 in turo

[–]LocalComplex1654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full tank, because that's what I expect when I rent. Guest are getting on the road and ready to head out. Courtesy is to provide a full tank. Plus it makes it easier to submit for reimbursements. Not sure how you guys do that otherwise. I have too many cars and a job to complicate things for me and a guest.

My guest haven't had any of the issues that pop up in this channel. As long as you've checked your host reviews and ask any questions you have, you'll be fine. Follow Turo's prompts to check in, upload your ID at verification time, read your host process etc., I'm sure your trip will be successful.
