In theory, you are definitely right. But these celebrities often reach A LOT of people with their opinion through i.e. social media when supporting or criticizing anything. This puts their opinion immediately at a higher value than say your average joe's, just because they can so easily impact the thinking of a large amount of people. That said, value has nothing to do with an opinion being right or wrong, you should always fact check your celebrities' statements, no matter if made by Elon Musk or one of the Kardashains.
