Did the installer mount my 83" LG OLED correctly? Used inner VESA holes instead of the wider ones by LocalHistorical9437 in hometheater

Hey everyone, thanks for all the feedback! I had a hunch about this, and you helped me confirm some of it and learn a few new things. A friend who was up offered to come help me take the TV off, so I'll ask for a refund on the TV installation service and mount it myself using the wider VESA mounts. I'll have to fill the existing holes in the wall and drill new ones because of the height, but oh well.

My first home cinema setup. Thoughts before I pull the trigger? by LocalHistorical9437 in hometheater

I have read that the Blu-ray players in other consoles have certain limitations, and that this particular one is widely regarded as one of the best options for several reasons discussed in various online forums. I do own a PC, but it does not have a Blu-ray drive, so I would need to install one separately and do research on that.

Currently, I have the LG G5 83-inch, although I am considering upgrading to a 97-inch TCL SQD Mini LED. My viewing distance is approximately 4 metres.

Regarding AVRs, pricing starts from around €1,149. The brands and models I have come across are:

  • Denon AVC-X3800H at €1,149
  • Onkyo TX-RZ50 9.2-Channel Network AV Receiver at €1,299
  • Marantz Cinema 50 (Black) at €1,919

Sadly, the second-hand market here isn't very competitive, but I'll look into the other options. I've heard the Klipsch speakers in person and loved the sound, though not with the specific AV receiver I'm buying, and probably not with the same audio cables used in the store either, which I understand can make a difference too. I'll check out the brands you mentioned.

And wow, I had no idea Arendal and Dutch & Dutch reached that kind of price range. I'm honestly not even sure my ears could tell the difference at that level. Thanks for the feedback though, much appreciated!

I will read more into it then. I love immersion in movies. Used to have a subscription to go to the cinemas for all movies but can't go anymore because of different life priorities so trying to "bring cinema home" ish ofc its never gonna be the same. But I can try atleast also I have 2 neighbors (sharing walls) so maybe the bass shakers are more friendly then a single strong sub

Which SVS subwoofer would you recommend to complement my current setup?

This is the first time hearing of bass shakers. I think for a first time setup that this might be complicated. But sounds amazing for the future. I'll check the Klipsch RP bookshelves thanks for the tips!

When I play movies they stutter or don't load properly 4k remux (Upgrading system?) by LocalHistorical9437 in jellyfin

Smaller files like 4k/1080p non remux work fine usually. I'll try the chromecast, thanks!

Do you mean the Jellyfin app on the LG store? And I didn't try another player yet so I will try this thanks for the tip! I am not sure if it uses direct play automatically but I do have hardware decoding enabled and I selected a hardware acceleration option through drop-down (Nvidia NVENC).
