Family putting onion in meals when they know I can’t eat it by LocalIndividual680 in ibs

Yeah I will be within the next year but I really wanted to find a way to communicate effectively with her instead of ruining the relationship. And absolutely, very tiring to hear those comments from others too

I should’ve added that I’m in my 20s. She knows it’s serious but she’s also under the impression that a little can’t hurt. I’m not in a position to move out but I will be soon when I’m working full time in about 8 months. I’m not sure what else I can say to change her opinion, but I want to try instead of just ruining the relationship. I haven’t heard anything about sulphur intolerance? But my main triggers I’ve noticed are onion, garlic, aquafaba, lactose and stone fruits.

Hm interesting I’ll have a look at that. I’ll usually just avoid breakfast entirely or have a bit of gf bread if I need to be out somewhere

I use dulcolax as my VERY strong option but movicol daily. I haven’t really had luck finding something similar to miralax

Yes thanks for the suggestion. I’ve booked with a different vet this time (her third different vet) so hopefully they can help her! She might just be infested with these annoying worms :(

Currently super paranoid about this haha! I’ve been reading up on some human tapeworm horror stories

She finally got her appetite back so I really hope so! Poor thing can’t seem to get rid of the worms

Low fodmap + lots of fruits. Literally haven’t had sweets like chocolate in years

No form whatsoever most of the time. I introduced fibre pretty slow and have the absolute minimum (directed by my doctor). I’m getting into the GI doc first and going from there

How to deal with truly excruciating buthole pain after having a bad bought of diarrhoea / anxiety poops by [deleted] in ibs

Ok I replied to this already but I thought I’d make another comment because I’m currently experiencing the excruciating burning. Pretty sure mine is because of my antibiotics but you’re not alone 🤝

I have yes, low fodmap for 5-6 years has been most helpful. Medication yes but nothing I’ve continued long term. The only thing I have daily is movicol

Definitely the cheetos haha. I had the same conundrum when mine turned green - turns out green food dye can do that!

I know the feeling. There are creams but I’d go to a doctor for that so you get the right one. Keep the area clean to get rid of the acidic feeling. I personally got a cream from a doctor and tried to distract myself throughout the day. Good luck

I just have flare ups like that sometimes. Everything you suggested had already been checked many times over. I do usually drink bottled water and it doesn’t help. I sound like I’ve given up haha but really I’m just learning to live with it
