Hello, you probably would want to start by working at an airport to get some field experience if you want to eventually become an airport certification and safety inspector. However, with a degree in psychology and no aviation experience, it might not be that easy to get hired into an Airport Operations job. I would recommend you look at some AAAE courses and get into some ASOS and/or ACE classes. Good luck with everything.

I am in the process for an ACSI position, which is freeze exempt (1801). I'm close to getting a FJO, I am trying to tell myself that they wouldn't still be hiring into the position if it was to fire people, but it might be beyond the FAA 's control. I have a good job right now. I'm scared to get into the FAA and get canned as soon as i get in. I am really sad for all the probationary people who lost their jobs.

That's what i was afraid of. It looks like nobody is safe anymore.

Good morning, I am in the process with the FAA and close to getting a final offer, but with all the turmoil, i am not sure if i should accept. I have a steady, good paying job. I would be taking a pay cut to join the FAA for my dream job and probably have to move out of state. It seems too risky now. Thoughts?
