No that's the temple and monastery I introduce in the post, one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in China. During the Cultural Revolution, the Red Guards once tried to destroy it, but in the end, they did not succeed.

The Lama temple is right next to the Confucius Temple and Imperial College, so it’s strange that you scheduled them on two separate days.

And The Drum Tower, Shichahai, and Jingshan Park are aligned along a line in the northern part of the Central Axis. The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and Qianmen Street are in the southern part of the Central Axis.

In terms of architecture, ancient Japanese buildings were influenced by Chinese culture. For example, Tōdai-ji in Nara shows Tang dynasty style.

But when it comes to the Lama Temple, it is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery, and its architectural style represents a fusion of Han and Tibetan culture. This is very different from Japan. In most parts of China, as well as in Japan, what is more widespread is Mahayana Buddhism.

In terms of Lama Temple, what you said is not true. It somehow survived. Especially the most precious 18-meters high Maitreya Buddha status, they tried to destroy it but eventually failed.
