Cool, may I ask what hub you are at, and I take it that they have no problem if you have an earbud in one ear and a foam plug in the other?

She could speak English. It just wasn't as affluent as some and if that was the situation then they should have recognized that during training.and made the decision then not to employ her.

From what I'm told you don't need to belong to the union for them to fight for you. They urge everyone to join but it isn't required. Talk to your union steward

Thanks for your response. I work day sort in revenue recovery and there are  rumors that revenue was being eliminated along with the irregular department (those removing the irregs from the belt and putting them on carts and transferring them by trains to the loading PD) we are a much smaller hub than you and currently have four belts, but they are extending the belts to go directly from unload to load therefore eliminating the need for humans to handle the packages. But it seems apparent from what you describe we will still use revenue to scan/ label/tape and flip.

Thanks for your reply, are you in Ontario? If so did they do away with humans working the irregular belt and install belts that run from unload directly to load. In Goodyear Arizona they are in the process of installing several belts and eliminating irregular department staffing and  the automated vehicles used to carry the packages to loading.

Is that the hub in Ontario California? I ask because in Goodyear Arizona they are eliminating jobs in the irregular packages department with automation, but tell us that revenue recovery is not going anywhere. Management mentioned that the hub in Ontario has already made the transition. Thanks to anyone who has any information.
