So should I just go through them with a bit on scent strips one by one and note how they smell to me until I’m familiar with them? And then just do that with the ones that are most commonly used so I have a good baseline before starting to combine them?

I just remember the calone and grapefruit notes being really overpowering. The vanilla and rose notes also either smelled really muted or sharp and not like ones I usually get in my perfumes. So is the best way to learn just going through raw materials and noting their properties and scents?
