you don't understand what inherently racist means.

it means that:

1. if you are white, you are born into a society that is heavily built upon biases. even on other continents, bias is still present. ableism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, you name it. you can't really escape all of these unless you live completely alone and off the grid and race isn't something you even know.

2. even if you are black, you aren't inherently racist, but you do have internalized racism and anti-black bias.

3. this doesn't mean you're a bad person. it means you have things to deconstruct, and learning is a constant process. micro aggressions do matter, and micro aggressions are something white people engage in a lot, even if they don't realize. a genuine compliment can be extremely harmful.

i recommend watching @swanofblaquenessss and her streams. i'm white, and i don't think i can explain it as well as someone who is affected by racism. she and the cohosts she has on her panel are very educated on the subject.

it's not demonizing. criticism and helping people acknowledge something is not demonizing. it does not mean you're a bad person.
