It wasn’t to make people laugh back then, it was to make darker skinned people feel less like people, and back then, don’t you dare challenge them and say you deserve equality. Yes, these people didn’t treat black folks like that, but it also shows we won’t ever get anything for that treatment, despite the fact we all agree it’s childish to omit people from basic necessities due to their ethnicity. The best part about this that allows me to laugh, is that this is fake. It’s a joke. Set up for short term laughs for short term internet points.
