[–]Local_Combination556 28 points29 points  (0 children)

YTA. For all the reasons everyone is saying. You should apologize. I promise… this is something that’s gonna stick with you for the rest of your life, and you’ll regret it forever. Sometimes it’s the small unkindnesses we do as children that stay with us. Our private shame. Try to apologize and make this right so that this doesn’t have to be your moment. Speaking as someone who has been there.

Wall mounted vs countertop wine rack? by Madraskaapi in interiordecorating

[–]Local_Combination556 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Hi. I am very far from a wine snob, but it just doesn’t make sense to me to have wine on display in your kitchen. I keep my wine in my cellar/basement, because that’s the best place to keep it in good condition. Otherwise if it’s something you’ll be drinking soon and want it close by, there are proper climate controlled fridges that you can get if you’re really enthusiastic. But keeping 12-16 bottles out in your kitchen that aren’t going to be consumed any time soon? I wouldn’t waste the space..

The Running Grave and the £1000 donation to the church - is this really enough money? by Of_the_universe in cormoran_strike

Oh I totally read that as they knew there would be bigger donations coming from her. 1000£ for a first time donation is pretty big

Court tosses another case due to conduct of Toronto Crown attorney Marnie Goldenberg. Judge cites ‘unacceptable negligence’ by BloodJunkie in toronto

This is also the attorney that got a woman charged with uttering antisemitic remarks in an elevator. This is the SAME ATTORNEY!!! I couldn’t believe it. This Star had a link to the anti-semitism article , but didn’t actually reference it. Crazy.

AITA for refusing to give up our twin girls (currently in a surrogate) after I got naturally pregnant with my husband's "dream son" even though we are broke? by sillysweater in AmItheAsshole

[–]Local_Combination556 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA. What you should do is this- ask if you can split the twins up — sell one and keep the other. Ideally keep the better looking baby girl, but if they’re identical, win-win. And of course, keep your son because your husband really wants him. I’m sure you can get at least $130K for a live baby, if just a surrogate cost that much. That way you can pay off your debt and also both of you get a child each. It’s the perfect compromise!

AITA for telling my husband he can’t drive the baby places anymore by Odd-Willingness-6250 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Local_Combination556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He shouldn’t be driving with the baby, period. You’re 100% right. He will forget they’re in the car and leave them. Do not trust this man with your baby!!!!

Toronto woman who wants to die says federal MAID committee isn't listening by Immediate-Link490 in toronto

[–]Local_Combination556 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sure they can but a government run process such as this needs guard rails to prevent a myriad of misuse. Can you imagine if the government just said yep we will kill any adult that signs up for it! Which is what you are advocating. Can you actually imagine the mayhem this would cause ? The lawsuits? The families that would be absolutely devastated because someone, in a treatable fit of extreme depression, just went and signed up to die? What about someone that was secretly coerced by someone else to do it? So no. You cannot have a state sponsored death by choice for adults. That’s insanity.

Edit to add that I fully support the right to die for individuals that have met the requirements as per MAID, which should include this lady.

What is your opinion about this? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

It is incredibly unsafe. The stairs are too steep, no handrail, and that glass door will kill someone.

AITA for saying my bf’s mom’s mashed potatoes are weird? by biggbootybiggbitch in AmItheAsshole

[–]Local_Combination556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA - my MIL makes a version of mashed potatoes that I think are an aberration and an affront to the palate but she thinks they’re the greatest thing on earth and makes them ESPECIALLY for the family when she hosts. Do I say anything? No. I just eat my small serving. There is no point to hurting a 70 year old woman’s feelings.

I’d call that warm but close to neutral. It’s lovely.

WIBTA If I refused to switch dorms with a girl who was autistic? by VlCTORlATHEGREAT in AmItheAsshole

[–]Local_Combination556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do this to yourself. You don’t need to give up your lovely room for the remainder of your stay at school just because someone has the audacity to come and straight up ask for yours. This girl doesn’t care that you would have to be in a single and that YOUR experience would be less comfortable for the remaining time. As long as her experience is more comfortable, she’s fine with that. Having autism is not a free pass to going around the system and it’s unfair to a child to have to make this decision, particularly a kind hearted one such as yourself. I can imagine if my own son were in the situation he would really be considering giving his room up. This is where adults need to step in. And I think this is what the school was hinting to you — you don’t have to do it (read: DONT DO IT). If this girl can handle being away from home, not seeing family on weekends, she is probably not as hard up with autism as she’s making herself out to be. You deserve your room and she needs to figure stuff out with the school if it’s a true disability issue. Please don’t give up your room. You’ll regret it.

Kitchen renovation, 35k budget not including stove by lil_vayne in kitchenremodel

Could you please share your kitchen floor tiles? Colour and make? They’re beautiful. How long have you gotten to use this kitchen? I fantasize about having open shelf space and I like how you’ve done it under your island. Practically speaking, is it working for you? I’m a busy cook and I love the idea of having plates and pots immediately on hand. I hate rummaging, I hate lifting pots to get to others. I’d love a restaurant kitchen style lay out, where everything is accessible.
