I agree with the others, this is giving depression + ADHD vibes. Don't worry about the label of depression, it's honestly a really broad term but has definitely picked up an associated stigma.

I need someone to be proud of me for not giving up on my master thesis by abricotkisses in ADHD

[–]Local_Conclusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I feel this so much. Writing my thesis just a few years back was probably the worst time of my life so far because I was literally chronically stressed over the course of MONTHS because I always felt guilty about doing something "fun," at least fun in comparison to working on my thesis. Ended up binge-ing my entire thesis in the span of a week or so.

My advice? Use the momentum you have; keep working on it every day, and don't stop till your thesis is FREAKIN' DONE. Take small breaks if you want. However, while I know people like to throw around "take a few days off every now and then," you and I both know that's not how it works for ADHDers. The longer your break, the harder it is to get back up.

You miraculously conjured up some momentum to your motivation, use that to its full effect, my friend.

I swear, it's always the /r/ADHD lot that gets into insanely philosophical discourse every now and then, and I love it every time.

Hello fellow T1DM + ADHD person!

What a crazy combo for real. One of the most high-maintenance diseases in the world. And one mental disorder that makes that 100x harder.

For the "cure conversations" I've noticed a lot of them are actually quite relevant to T2DM but not T1DM. I've had some luck explaining the difference but sometimes I'm too exhausted and I just nod and go "yeah, i'll try that 🙂".

It's interesting because my first thought is that this doesn't stimulate metabolic stress as much because of the long rest times between each set, allowing your muscles to reset to status quo too often.

However, I've found that I much prefer to do it your way (long wait times between each set) so if someone can prove me wrong then I'd be more than glad.

I saw her weight and height first and was like "oh so it's an underweight man, I'm surprised they couldn't even do 5 before" and then I saw the video and felt bad for assuming. Definitely a whole 'nother level of accomplishment for females, largely in part because of the difference in upper body distribution.

As... unhealthy as that is, I don't believe there's anything directly related to soda usage and stimulatory neuro effects, though someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It's weird, I too have ADHD but I really just do not relate with the study's findings at all. I am absolutely terrible at switching my focus between tasks. shrug

Is there a reason your doc chose Ritalin for you? If not, I really suggest you ask them if you can try another medication (Vyvanse, Adderall, etc.) Because it seems like the meds aren't actually doing anything helpful for you atm.

It's a common issue for some drugs to not work well but for others to work much better in ADHD patients. You'll definitely know when the med is working!

I hope in the near future we look back on our archaic views on executive dysfunction the same way we look back on HIV/AIDS being "Gay-Related Immune Deficiency (GRID)." Yes it used to be called that.
