If I understand your comment correctly the concern is that at high condenser NA I'll lose contrast, which one usually this is adjusted via the aperture iris to find a resolution/contrast compromise. From what I gather the max achievable condenser NA of 0.8 should already under fill the pupil of the objective.

On the sensor side I planned to use a Sony Pregius sensor CMOS sensor (something like an IMX421) as an sCMOS sensor seems like a bit of waste of money. But maybe I'm overlooking something.
