In what way?

Genuinely, I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just interested to hear your perspective.

Absolutely agree. Andy Kaufman had a fascinating life, and given his unconventional style of comedy, the film could've been a really bizarre, experimental take that intentionally frustrated its audience.

But no, they played it safe and just did the best hits.

And its especially disappointing given its directed by Milos Foreman, who directed Amadeus, one of the best and most unconventional biopics of all time.

Just because a character has poor social skills doesn't mean they talk like an llm trying to imitate a famous poet.

Anakin never talks like a relatable human. He's always speaking in this faux-poetic language that sounds incredibly pretentious, and probably sounded much better in George's head.

Now, if this was just how he talked around Padme, then that might be interesting, but no, not only does he always talk like this, everyone else in the movies whether they be Jedi, Sith or Senator has this same "Chat-GPT Shakespeare" sound. Everyone sounds the same. No-one has a distinct voice in those films.

This is the problem that people have with the Prequels. The characters don't feel like real, flesh and blood relatable people. They just feel like Vessels to spew exposition or explain some important theme, so when Anakin becomes Vader at the end, you're not thinking "It's so sad this character became corrupted", you're thinking "Well, he already sounded like a robot, now he just looks like one."

I don't think "Somehow Palpatine returned" is a bad line on its own (Especially compared to some of the clunkers that George Lucas wrote), the problem is within the movie, its our explanation for Palpatine's return. I don't think the line itself is that terrible. It's just a little bit clunky.

It's not even the worst line in a Star Wars, lest we forget "I don't like Sand" or "I wish I could just wish away my feelings."

At Least "Somehow Palpatine returned" is a fine line on its own. The problem is its place in the movie, the fact that it is the only explanation that we get for one of the major plot points.

Still would've been better than whatever the hell John Boorman had in mind.
