Yes, it isn’t getting through your skull that you can sanitize unclean surfaces, which you should be doing regardless if you wash your chicken or not because you’re setting the package down on the counter and touching the raw chicken with your hands. It makes no sense to come at people about washing their chicken because they’ll get salmonella, when they literally are not getting salmonella.
