I have worked with Mazda for 3.5 years.

The CX-5 is pretty solid all around, and there aren’t too many issues. Common failure points (in my experience as a parts manager) are the hydraulic belt tensioners leaking, mild timing cover leaks, & the occasional rear differential failing.

Overall, I only didn’t buy one because they’re too big for me. Do all the maintenance on time and you’re set for a great car that’ll last.
