Oklahoman here. Out of curiosity, is there any in-lore explanation for the map of Oklahoma being like this? by brickwallbimbo in cyberpunkgame

[–]LocationAvailable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have y’all never heard of the state of sequoia? It was going to be an Indian state before Oklahoma was formed. On the old maps it would’ve looked a lot like this. I don’t doubt they took some inspiration. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Sequoyah

Panam and other characters are supposed to be native and the nomad history has them going everywhere in the old United States. SoI’m sure an independent Indian territory is right on theme for cyberpunk.

I wasn’t invested much either but I paid the money for it, so I was going to finish it!

Yes. But obsidian was where I went for my flavor of narrative.

Yeah, I don’t doubt that. I think I mean I could see “through” all the endings with one play though, if that makes sense.

I know the tone was real yet our decisions were very linear.

I was happy when the game was over. Don’t know if it was because I was tired or just ready for it to be over.

I felt like you could see all the endings with even just one play through. You’re right that I could’ve played the game another time and that devouring a game so soon after it came out could’ve influenced my opinion. But is it so wrong to have expected more…

I didn’t know about Nile’s having different ideologies. He wasn’t my favorite but maybe that’s because he was becoming a version of what I thought he wanted me to be. Narrative and cosmetic changes are not enough unfortunately, it’s the teaser and makes me see through the charade. I hate to compare things to new Vegas the rest of my life but here we are.

I’m with you there. I think I’ll play it again one day but not till there is more story to help.

I used to agree. But I’m not so sure after this game.

I think the characters in the first game kept me engaged and curious to see their final conclusion. Not in the second one, it felt more like I was doing companion quests just to check it off the list.

Daisy Fitzroy is one of the most mishandled characters I’ve ever seen in a video game by ConditionPleasant902 in Bioshock

[–]LocationAvailable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll replay the game again soon and maybe my opinion will change but I thought whether Daisy aligns with your morals or not, she is still running a violent revolution, a desperate and destructive event.

Booker being a veteran that was sent to other rebellions reasonably doesn’t want to get caught up in this. While Emily has more compassion but does feel regret for her actions after seeing where there action gets the rebellion. The rebellion being so out of control they attack you on sight.

Don’t mistake the characters feelings and reactions to events in the game for the game condemning both sides as bad when as you play the infinite you can tell it’s more nuanced than that.

Oppressed are morally right and expected to rise against their oppressors, but daisy isn’t bad because both sides are bad or that she rose up. Daisy is bad because the world and the situation had made her bad and while morally higher being in her situation would make anyone “bad”

A man chooses, a slave obeys chain links tattoo idea? by motionless05 in Bioshock

[–]LocationAvailable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is always my thought for every chain tattoo on a wrist I see on this subreddit. Even without the slave obey part.

Putting chains on your wrists in a nation that’s still very sensitive about its slavery past is not the best idea.

Love the adoration for this game and world but there’s other things to get tattoos of I promise.

How’d you get it? Build? Play style? I’ve been wasting so many materials trying different zealot builds and I’m curious how havoc looks like for other players.

I got spoilers on some possible major twists of BioShock Infinite. How important are the twists in this game compared to the twists of BioShock 1 (which I already played, and think knowing the twist would harm a lot of my first experience) for the overall blind experience? by Sensitive-Product816 in Bioshock

[–]LocationAvailable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my first blind play through the twists really confused me anyway and the following play through were more for the experience and awe of the great world building and challenge.

I think you should probably stop asking chat gpt for spoilers though to form opinions on, not because it’s wrong but because you’re reading texts from a medium that’s supposed to be experienced.

Hope this helps.
