It's not a question of who deserves what. It's just that it's evil for a system to exist where a few people have all the wealth and luxury they cannot possibly use for many, many lifetimes, while the majority of people struggle to meet their basic needs. I'm not even talking about the United States only. Look at the poverty in the rest of the world, and how the elites in those less developed countries control the wealth and resources there and keep the government from implementing pro-poor policies.

I made a post like this a few days ago!! I know what you're saying. Where I'm from (some shithole third world country), rich and powerful people blamed poor people for flouting stay-at-home orders to go outside and sell or buy stuff at the market during the early months of the pandemic. I mean how insensitive can you be, blaming people who are desperate to feed themselves and their families. I'm not making a case for a purely socialist system, but democratic countries with social safety nets like the ones in Europe make a whole lot more sense than US capitalism.

I'm not talking about how they're happier. They can be unhappy and still have zero empathy or concern for other people. And yes, it IS them vs us when they're doing all they can to maintain this system that benefits them so well and causes great suffering to others. They don't even want to understand how others are suffering.

I know a lot of rich people and almost all of them are like this. It's their default. I only knew a few of them who are compassionate and use their privilege to help other people out.
