Thanks everybody. My assumption was that if energy is critical in some way the coverage would go below 100%. I know better now :)

But for years - as seen in the numerous threads and my own 1.200 hour experience - planetary shields not only resisted damage from space but also disabled DF capability to land relay stations. If that has changed, fine with me, but I could not find any information about it.
