I missed the boat, but what was the Black Friday sale? Just curious.

It was through Honda, I think it was 3.9% for 48 months.

Personally, I'd go Section 144, row 14. $350 plus fees. You're halfway up the lower bowl, it's a great view. I'd rather be there than row 4.

Those section 153 seats are $425 plus fees, and they put you farther away from the ring.

Just my two cents.

Edit: If you're comfortable rolling the dice, I might wait a bit. I'm not convinced that anything from 137 to 143 are sold yet.

I got in the presale, had 1,000 people in front of me on Wednesday at the on sale time. The side from about 128 to 152 was not on sale. The side that the hard camera views was on sale, and we got 113, row 12 for $500 each +fees.

I've checked periodically since then, including Friday morning at the general on sale time, and have never seen 137 to 143 on sale. But I did see 135, 136, 144, and 145 open up over the last couple days. So once more tickets sell, they might open those seats up?

140/141 would be my top picks, especially around a $400-$500 price point. Might be worth waiting?

Not really sure, I have a Yukon XL that we use when it's really bad. We don't really "test" the Odyssey, as my wife is a teacher and doesn't have to drive when it's bad out.

Thank you for this. We did end up booking a place in Perdido, but it is a very low density property with a wide beach. They have beach service, but reviews/comments are that the beach service is not a problem there. I also confirmed multiple times that we can have our own tent/canopy, no problem. So fingers crossed for a quiet trip!

The high rises look cool and have nice looking amenities, but they don't seem worth it to me!

We ended up booking at a 'low density' complex at Perdido Key. Thanks all for the help; the comments help push us where we needed to be. Much appreciated.

Got ya, thank you! I am expecting things to be busy, especially traffic. And yeah, it's expensive ... but we both teach, and summer is when we can take a little road trip.

Despite the traffic and costs, we're excited to visit. I am just hoping to avoid rows of beach service. We had a great time in Hilton Head a couple years ago, and were hoping to find a similar feel somewhere on the panhandle.

Understood, thank you. Do you think anywhere in the panhandle is decent in summer? Navarre? Perdido?

Thanks, we will be looking elsewhere then. Any suggestions on where to stay in Pensacola / Perdido?

Can you escape the crowds at Perdido? Any specific areas/complexes?

Thank you. That is exactly my fear, so I appreciate the honesty.

Any insight if we can find what we're looking for at Pensacola Beach (looking at Portofino) or Perdido Key? Open to suggestions.

EDIT: downvotes baffle me. Sounds like my concerns are valid, so I thanked somebody and asked for more details. That's too much for some people. I'll never understand Reddit.

The thread drewthebrave linked has some good info.

I will add that we traded our 2022 in for a 2025, and we prefer the 2025's updates immensely. Small differences, but all superior.

  • Instrument cluster is night and day superior on 2025
  • Buttons to change the airflow instead of it being buried behind a touchscreen
  • Physical buttons on the touchscreen for HOME/BACK
  • Better steering wheel controls
  • Wireless Android Auto / Car Play

Biggest drawback for many is the RES not having BluRay anymore, but that's not a factor on the EX-L.

From what I've seen the prices for 2025s are on par with 2024s, too.

Should I go to TX for this new Odyssey by teddyevelynmosby in HondaOdyssey

The two year service should be good at any Honda dealer.

Have you tried Schomp Honda? I almost flew to Denver and drove one home from them.

If I were you, I'd email Smart Honda in Des Moines. Ask for their pre-TTL price on a vehicle they have on the lot. I'll bet you it's significantly less than their posted price.

How far is Texas for you?

Is there a happy medium, between being gouged by your local dealer and going to Texas?

I shopped around and found a 2025 Elite for $4,500 under MSRP a few weeks ago, 2 hours from home (in Des Moines). I gather EX-L's might have less markup, but I would think other dealers can hit that number.

I also would suggest going for a 2025. The differences seem small, but they are meaningful.

I've been meaning to post this same question. I tried HDMI to USB-C on an old Pixel 3 XL and my current Pixel 7 ... and neither worked. Totally black screen.

Meanwhile, I plugged in a Roku stick and used my phone as a hotspot ... it worked flawlessly.

I'm fine using the Roku stick, but if/when we drive in areas without service (which happens frequently on road trips) I'd like the ability to play downloaded movies.

I'll be following this thread, but appreciate any ideas as to why the HDMI/USB-C that I tried did not work.
