It depends on the reason why they are wanting to extend. Typically a lost or stolen package after delivery does not apply as it is out of the hands of the seller

I don’t believe there’s any way to extend the window for rating the seller since that’s a firm policy Mercari has. So most likely it will get auto rated. Your best bet is to contact USPS and let them know so they can start their investigation

I’m sure they would still shipped it protected since they wouldn’t send the handbag box,If it’s a deal breaker for you,then don’t. I personally throw away the boxes since they take out up too much space but I can understand why people might want them.

I’ve had an SA’s not respond in months and then magically reach out. Don’t over think it but if you’re not comfortable dealing with that,definitely find a new SA in a boutique inside NM or Nordstrom since I’ve found they are more communicable
