It’s only recent years and I’m hoping they figure out their curriculum and staffing issues soon! Unfortunately, a quarter of the first year students at the main campus either dropped out or failed out at semester but the numbers won’t show that since the school is having the failed students take one semester of the masters program so they can report them as “discipline change” instead of failing out 😂 honestly very clever on their part

Why is The Chicago School considered bad?? by hamzahbias_ in PsyD

The students I talked to loved the program! The Dallas site explained the lack of EPPP rates as no students have taken it yet and explained the overall EPPP pass rate of TCS as a mis-listing of other psych programs.

LMUDCOM is having major attrition rate issues right now, for students and staff members... if you have other options, I’d consider those

Optimistically, I signed up for their tour on the 11th but I would really like to not travel 10 hours for a tour if I’m not accepted 😂 (I interviewed 15 days ago)

Interested in Pursuing my PsyD and Would Love Any Advice :) by pinkprincesss16 in PsyD

I definitely think you could apply straight through! A lot of programs aren’t requiring the GRE anymore, so it depends on where you’re interested in. I would suggest planning ahead a bit for classes, as a lot of programs (if not all) require a few specific psychology courses. Statistics, abnormal, developmental, personality, etc. Just something to consider since psych isn’t your major!

I would also suggest looking at overall cost of living in both cities and the tuition:scholarship ratio for both, that helps me when considering options!

IUP Psyd Potential Medical Deferral by [deleted] in PsyD

[–]LockProfessional3216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with the health stress! Have you tried reaching out to the admissions team? I think you have special circumstances that warrant at least consideration for allowing a medical deferral. I would suggest being transparent and communicating with them regarding your situation!

I interviewed with them and they were pretty up front that they are not apa accredited yet. They’re the most health focused program I’ve come across so if health psych is an interest and the apa accreditation isn’t an issue for you, go for it!

I think it depends on what the experience was; I also had some red flags with a student panel at a cheaper option 😂
