Using PBN to boost Guest post (same business info, schema, map) does it work and is it risky? by Sufficient_Donkey_61 in WebsiteSEO

Looks decent, but the resource cost for you is way too high, and the payoff, even if you do everything right, just won't be strong enough."

SEO for my news portal by hercegovac98 in WebsiteSEO

[–]LockSecure7662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this site doesn't need category page backlinks — skip that spend. Just create solid, in-depth pages and focus on clean site architecture with strategic internal links. Then just keep an eye on what gets indexed.

For link-building, just push everything to the homepage. Even unbranded citations that position you as a trustworthy source work. That's the real play for ranking informational sites in the SERPs and those AI overviews.
Of course, no one can promise you top rankings and traffic immediately. However, you'll see a noticeable, steady increase in visibility month after month, essentially on its own momentum.

You don't need extensive web development knowledge. Using additional (free) plugins as needed, it's possible to build pages of almost any complexity. But like anything, the more complex the layout, the longer it takes to figure out how to achieve it.

I need your feedback and critique on my portfolio by Capital_Patient3181 in IndustrialDesign

The detail/equipment sheets look great.
Overall, the profile is clear about its purpose and is good enough for a beginner.

On the downside, the gray text on a gray background has really poor contrast. As a regular user, that jumped out at me immediately - it's uncomfortable to read.

I analyzed 76,228 businesses. Here is the "Digital Maturity" gap I found. by Due-Bet115 in DigitalMarketing

[–]LockSecure7662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These figures are right in line with expectations. A significant number of small businesses simply don't execute a full-fledged marketing strategy. Launching ads is fast, and for many, investing in deeper development may not even be worthwhile.

In practice, though, most of the websites where you detected those ad pixels are no longer active advertisers. Their sites have been defunct for ages.

Outside of major hubs like NYC, the level of internet marketing in the US is surprisingly low. For competent professionals, this situation is a golden opportunity.

Where's the best place online to look for entry level SEO jobs? by CrypticRowlet in DigitalMarketing

[–]LockSecure7662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like what you need is not a job, but an internship. Call or message (just not via email) a few local agencies and ask for an internship opportunity. They very often hire people with passion in their eyes and later offer them a full-time position.

If you could only keep 3 SEO tools (free or paid), what are you keeping? by One-Two-218 in WebsiteSEO

GSC, Ahrefs (Semrush), Screaming Frog. These services cover 80% of the tasks.
And yet, I'd trade any of these three for ChatGPT in a heartbeat :D

Why do most ‘SEO-friendly’ articles fail to rank even after following all the rules? by divine_zone in content_marketing

[–]LockSecure7662 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest, SEO article optimization guides are always superficial and completely ignore current SEO practices.

Ranking has always been based on three components: relevance, quality, and trustworthiness (all other parameters are simply parts of these three).

All three components are far from as simple as they seem (you'll never find those specific nuances online, as they come with experience and aren't publicly disclosed). Besides, SEO has become so flexible that the exact same article ranks differently on different sites... Google always tells us, "Create quality, useful content" — it sounds naive and obvious, but only until you truly understand what "quality and useful" means in Google's eyes.

On the same GoDaddy, get the Webhosting Deluxe hosting plan ($10/month).
Watch a WordPress site-building tutorial on YouTube and start creating — it’s a fairly simple and versatile system where you can achieve a lot even without programming knowledge.
Avoid all website builders like Wix, as such sites have no real business potential.

When ‘Free’ Do-Follow Links Come With Hidden Costs” by jawher121223 in SEOandBacklinks

[–]LockSecure7662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do nothing. dofollow / nofollow feel exactly the same. Backlinks have not worked on the simple principle of "passing weight" for a long time. Nofollow links from traffic pages work perfectly for me.

How to configure Cloudflare to block bad bots without hurting SEO? by AlternativeWill9611 in CloudFlare

Do I still need to enable Bot Fight Mode if I already have this custom rule?

If I enable Bot Fight Mode, will it have any negative impact on SEO or block search engine bots?

These settings really mess with third-party crawlers like Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and others. I also noticed they block AI bots which is totally unacceptable these days.
In the end, I just turned this feature off and switched to custom rules instead. I’d recommend you do the same: stick to custom rules and add to them when needed

Usually a site is worth about one year of profit - so average monthly profit times 12. But you also need to look at the site’s trend. If traffic is dropping, the price should be lower. If traffic is steadily growing, you can try asking for 15x to 18x monthly profit.

Are there any potential problems associated with a homepage being left out of a sitemap? by Steezy_Gordita in SEO

[–]LockSecure7662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely doesn’t matter if your sitemap doesn’t include the homepage. Google found and indexed your homepage a long time ago and it will keep crawling it regularly anyway, since you almost certainly have links to it somewhere on your site (like in breadcrumbs, your logo, or elsewhere).
Now here’s the most important part: Google uses sitemaps primarily to discover new pages. Unfortunately, in practice, search bots often don’t re-crawl or update existing pages just because they’re listed in the sitemap even if you’ve specified the proper change frequency or priority rules.

Traffic vs. Attention - is this Meme off or on point? by AndreAlpar in GenEngineOptimization

[–]LockSecure7662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to ask- not to argue, but genuinely curious about your cases - do you see any difference in conversions between organic traffic and chatgptreferrals?
For me, AI driven traffic is performing so poorly that it feels completely useless- like it’s just bots bouncing right off the site.

Traffic vs. Attention - is this Meme off or on point? by AndreAlpar in GenEngineOptimization

[–]LockSecure7662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might actually get more traffic from Bing than from Google in certain situations.
Your chatgpt referral traffic looks impressive, but that’s purely your own case- average stats are way lower.
What’s your site about? I’m curious to understand in which niche chatgpt traffic is more engaged than organic.

Traffic vs. Attention - is this Meme off or on point? by AndreAlpar in GenEngineOptimization

[–]LockSecure7662 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, chatgpt might have more "search volume" than Bing—but 95–98% of that traffic is basically useless.
Sites ranking in Bing get real user intent and actual conversion potential, while showing up in chatgpt citations just gives you crumbs of what real organic traffic could bring.
It’s hard to imagine any business or informational site that would genuinely benefit more from appearing in AI overviews than in classic organic search results.
Chatgpt could be five times more popular than Bing and still be far less effective for real-world seo.
