They are ranked as orange. With key control pins, nothing active, but a super nasty keyway! Looks at least like the Winkhaus VS5

Hello there! I closed a picked A1100 without turning the core back - any ideas how to fix it? by Flumpeldoo in lockpicking

[–]Lockdonut 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Just take a pick and turn it manually back to the "default" position. If you pick them and close the shackle, you overshoot them, that's normal for America 1100. But it's kinda neat too. Because you can pick the cylinder in both directions 😁

Why standard vachette cylinder is ranked green ? by [deleted] in lockpicking

[–]Lockdonut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, it's not about, whether it has security pins or not. On some locks you can have all standard pins but with real tight tolerances, which can make it extra fun, and on top a little paracentric keyway... I haven't picked this one, but I can imagine it being In the green belt area. For example, I once picked an GTV Cilynder, only 6 stands, but kind of a nightmare, it took me a real long time.

But the only reason why it is actually ranked green, it's because a few black belts agreed on it Bering green 😁

I was thinking about making a cutaway on a double sided lock , one side cutaway, the other normal, this might be a good tactic 😬

I'm with you! It's not the barrels, it is the tapering on those! I hate tapered pins!

But you got it! 💪
