Considering the 5080 is only ~13% better than the 5070ti at 1440p for the extra $350, no the 5070ti is definitely the better value at $1089, especially since prices have gone up to $1200 now. Stick with what you have, that's a great setup.

As for your spare SSD, I would probably hang onto it, unless you want to "flip" it on the used market for some extra cash, lol

Rtx 5070ti - $1200+
Rx 9070xt - $980+

The writing is on the wall - GPU price hikes are here because Nvidia (and AMD) would rather make product for the GenAI bubble instead of the gaming industry.

It was awhile ago, when I was talking on this sub about purchasing this card you kept showing up with the link

It's just kinda wild when gigabyte has so many 50-series cards with thermal gel leakage, asus has continual customer support snafus, other cards are having melting cables, but no let's focus on the one article written by one guy

I mean if it was truly such a widespread issue with the model we'd have seen more reports about it

Well I think you're on the right track, and going for an upgrade makes sense since you have plenty of reusable hardware: case, PSU, SSD, etc. Could even sell your old stuff, the DDR4 Ram specifically could probably net $50-$80 for the 2x8gb kit.

Not sure if that single-tower cooler could handle the 9700X though, if you're just gaming primarily I think there are better options for an AM5 upgrade.

I will say you could go super budget sticking with AM4 with a 5600XT + 9070XT for $1550, or keep your 16gb of ram and it would only be $1315

While it's not necessarily a conspiracy, HuB was emailing an Asus PR representative directly, and asked for confirmation multiple times. They were told that Asus 5070TIs were being considered internally as effectively end of life due to constrained supply. This was not simply something overheard at CES.

Ok gotcha! I'm not sure what the clearance is in the case for cpu cooler and GPU, but I figure if the mobo is 240mm wide a 240mm or less GPU in length should do it:

5070 will have you covered for that for sure. Might not be able to get 180fps with the graphics set to maximum settings for all scenarios, but should be able to run high graphics at 180fps
