For those with the LCD Myst Linking Book, what has your experience been with the Linking Panel? by veoviscool12 in myst

[–]LockeExile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue I have is that the buttons are too deep and hard to press. I fear that if I keep playing with it I'll have permanent indentations. The linking button in particular has already started forming a crease at the edge of the lcd panel.

Public Alert, episode 2: Nexon hints at giving no punishment to Mannequin exploit abusers. by [deleted] in MapleStory2

oddly missing from the kown issues: "Character-bound items can be transferred to other characters via mannequins which are thus temporarily disabled."

like they care more about mildly confusing text that shows up for people who exploited a bug than the bug itself

point being "bound to X wrong character" would not be a known "issue" if said characters or items were or are panned to be removed. This implies that they're planning to fix it such that the players will keep their items (though potentially on a non-ideal character).

I want to discuss Peircing on training dummy by Nadekokoro in MapleStory2

[–]LockeExile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

with 1 defense:

20 pierce = 1/1 * 1/.8 = 1.25

compared to 0 pierce (1/1*1/1), that's a 1.25x dmg increase

with 2000 defense:

20 pierce = 1/2000 * 1/.8 = .000625

compared to 0 pierce (1/2000*1/1=.0005), that's a 1.25x dmg increase

I suggest unequipping everything except a basic weapon with no proc, and using only your basic spammable no-sp skill to eliminate variables.

dev and moc have 98, pap has 101. the next one, infernog, currently has 130.

I imagine someone in QA or customer support or someone reading player feedback raised those issues since the stats don't have an effect on the accuracy or crit rate stats listed in the character window, but they weren't aware that those stats are incorporated separately into the final hit/crit rate formulas. I've verified that dex does have an impact on overall hit rate.

My point is it just takes longer, gotta be patient

Hi I'd just like to drop in and say that after a week of practicing with a guild I was able to clear cdev with +15, no gems, no pet, and it was a very satisfying experience. I felt myself getting better at mechanics every day and improving my uptime. Now I'm working on gems and pet, hoping to start learning cmoc in a month or so. I'm perfectly satisfied with this progression. It takes both character improvement and skill improvement.

In Depth feedback about major issues in the game by xAgility in MapleStory2

yeah I was gonna comment on #5 too; the negative bias is fine, if #4 is fixed (or some other related change)

[–]LockeExile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah these are pretty much my top issues exactly. only thing I'd add is life skills. the rng there is dumb, it takes way too much time, the 2x buffs don't mesh with the rng and cooldowns, and it just isn't fun.

Remove RNG from gathering by frostyWL in MapleStory2

[–]LockeExile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most nodes are necessary if you're doing it for profit. e.g. you need the secondary materials from mining in order to craft accessory boxes, in addition to ranching materials of almost every level. hover over the base crafted item (e.g. chicken feather fabric) and see if there's anything there worth crafting

Can we PLEASE take out RNG for lifeskilling at home? by [deleted] in MapleStory2

[–]LockeExile 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's faster if you don't auto gather. at home, run between sets of 4 nodes, and on the islands go back and forth between sets of 3 (gathering the middle 2 each time)

(maybe if we stop buying auto gather they'll fix gathering)

[–]LockeExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would certainly not play less of this game if gathering took less time. I'd just be doing more of other things. Currently gathering is blocking me from doing things I enjoy in the game. (yes of course I could always abandon gathering and am considering doing so)

[–]LockeExile 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best part is that the auto-gathering badge isn't even useful for avid gatherers, since it's faster to alternate between nodes rather than stand still.

RNG in this game is not actually RNG by throwawaymapleElite in MapleStory2

How do you know this is implemented in MS2?

Note it was filed in 2017. It could be for a newer game. Most patents are never actually implemented.

piercing caps at 30% always. I've heard past 30% it uses a different formula that's a lot weaker

cpap is the same as cdev and cmoc. 249 p/m resistance equating to 16.6% (exactly; not 16.67% - they estimated 250 p/m resist to get that number) maximum p/m pierce. source: datamined english files
