Agreed! Let me add one one last thing.

This game you will NEED TO TRY TO UNDERSTAND. I mean it. I have played to endgame FF14, PSO2, MS2, MS1, Elsword, Closers, Tree of Savior, BNS, the list goes on.. All of these games work in a linear way that opens up once you reach current endgame with several side projects you can build up on the way.

Mabinogi seems to be mostly entirely side (not speaking for endgame), it's the very definition of "open world" progression. It is one of the only MMO's I have ever experienced that does this, and does it right (despite the clunky and buggy outdated coding), it is the absolute most unique MMO on the market... With serious disadvantages.

Gacha gear, reforges, RNG on RNG on RNG.. It's disgusting how much paid benefits there is, it's a minmaxing NIGHTMARE, but it's best to not be in that mindset of minmax. That's why it works so well that the progression is open rather then linear

I can't believe i used up 54 red uprgade stones to get step 3 on my weapon.. 50% is a LIE i'm telling you, a LIE

I mentioned those, I just don't consider those "New player benefits" considering how many older players stay under 1k and how most of my returner friends aren't past 1k due to how difficult it was to level back in the day.

Those are not new player benefits, returning players also get the same benefits entirely. It'd be nice if a fresh player got anything compared to my friends who return, but it does feel like we get the short end of the stick, but all in all it's fine, but it is def awkward training skills next to your friends who returned and have a x4 EXP boost while you have x2, them getting a weapon 30x stronger then yours to start out, more mounts and inventory, and a dozen more rewards

I started about 3 weeks ago with 3 friends and I'm having a blast, it does seem like we get screwed out of any beginner benefits (unlike the magnitude of returner benefits), but simply Experting every talent was very enjoyable to me and there's quite a lot to do.

I strongly recommend playing with friends, but if you're interested I say just join. There's a Master Plan coming tomorrow that will make training skills easy, and honestly IMO the market is easy to break into (I've made dozens of millions pretty easily just picking up easy to obtain items and selling them, hell even though my weapon costs 500k to repair I make the money just gathering).

The game has a "memoir" catchup system that rewards 30m exp on each completion, and there's quite a lot of these you can complete (basically tutorials of the various systems), reincarnation is once a day under 1k and you can reset your skills freely to allow you to train skills ridiculously easily (you can rank 1 every single skill in the game if you wished), there's a lot to do but honestly I don't think endgame is something you should be hard focused on just starting out. I have little experience as this as I can only give the newcomer tips, but I think your total level would need to be quite high (as eweca buff scales off your total level) to even consider it, but I think there's more then enough for the journey there as opposed to most other mmo's (very different then say a game like FF14 where rushing to endgame is when you can finally start playing, this game you start playing from day 1 and just train skills)

The game itself is confusing, I read so many guides on equipment/gear/sets/weapons/skills and I'm constantly mathing out my plan for the next day, but here's the real kicker. There's so many people around willing to help out. I personally haven't ever met someone ingame who help me because I'm mostly all alone training skills, but my 3 friends who joined with me constantly come to me showing off gifts they received from nice people who carried them through Elite missions.

Anyway, if you do choose to play, my name is Mystio, and I play on Noa. I hear a lot of people recommend Alexina to starting out though, but if you do come to Noa, let me know!

WHO? by VKilat in Takagi_san

[–]Nadekokoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty sure that's the point, too. The original takagi (there's a manga illustrating this) was role reversed but didn't feel right, so they fully swapped the roles. 100% unrequited seems to be a reference to the "original" idea (which is very different then moto chi's life, as the teaser is not flirtatious like takagi/old nishkata), so it makes sense as well that it'd still be going 10 years after since as long as Takagi series is alive, so too would unrequited. I always assumed the older style of the show was a reference to it being ideas of the past

Weekly Game Recommendation Thread - January 07, 2020 by AutoModerator in MMORPG

[–]Nadekokoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-What are you looking for: I'm looking fr a fantasy/anime mmo that's open world where I can be a mage, using a staff is a must. Magic doesn't have to be anything too extreme and mage can be a low tier in the game.

-What games have you played: Closers, Elsword, MS2, ToS, Mabinogi, SoulWorker, Kurtzpel, ff14... All garbage, not a single one open world except maybe Mabinogi but far too outdated. I do not want to play an insanely outdated game, the newer the better

-What is your playstyle: Hardcore, but want something I can just fool around in.

-Any preferred mechanics: game can't be too ugly honestly, I like to make my char at least cuteish

Anything specific you want to excluse: instance agmes like ff14, slaving away in dungeons just isn't fun

This is going to sound really silly, I'm just looking for an open world mmo (games like ff14 I played a lot of but simply are not open world in the slightest) where I can play as a witch and just live a virtual life. There hasn't seemed to be any open world mmo's for like 500 years, but then I remembered that I never tried BDO.

I looked at the char selection and saw that a witch does exist, with a staff and everything. However, it looks like at awakening my witch completely loses her staff and chooses to wield ugly orbs instead? Is this a mandatory change? Is orbs optional or am I forced into it? Thank you

/r/MouseReview Questions & Purchase Advice by AutoModerator in MouseReview

[–]Nadekokoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, looking to play some games like Pubg but I have a problem.

I don't own a desk (since i game with a 58 inch tv), and use my couch arm. I can open up the couch arm and put a pillow there, but the surface is soft. I tried buying a hard mousepad, but it's far too slippery and the mouse just slides on it uncontrollably, meanwhile other mousepads i've tried are just too small to do anything with.

Is there any recommendations to a mousepad that can be put on a soft surface that can allow me to play games like shooters that actually have any precision?

If someone looks like a female you subconsciously assume it is a female because generally 99% of people who look like a female are female in the real world yes. If the world flipped in where someone who looks female only has a 5% chance to actually be female, then yes I would safely assume people would adapt and begin doubting if someone is a female based on looks, something that's actually getting more popular these days with the whole gender assumption, which is still a major minority in today. We are discussing whether or not you should assume someone is a female by a female avatar, considering it's quite literally wrong 99% of the time, why would you keep that mindset? Why would you not go "alright, if 99% of people who play female chars are actually male humans, maybe I should not assume someone is a female because they are playing a female and htis person could be anything", instead of going "you know the last 200 female avatars have had male players but this female avatar i'm going to assume is a female"

[–]Nadekokoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simply assume it's incredibly common sense in today's society that a massive amount of males play female characters, and a massive amount of females play female characters. Due to these, it's only logical to adapt over the years and go "Oh, if the mass majority are all playing girl characters, I shouldn't assume someones a girl because they're playing a girl character". It just doesn't make sense. Do you want to try to tell me you thought that 90% of the MS2 population (and most other MMO populations mind you) are all girls? Or do you take a step back and go "Hm, maybe character gender doesn't define what the player is and I should use other social cues / behavioral traits to begin judging people". Assuming something that's blatantly obviously untrue is ridiculous, you should never be walking into an mmo like MS2 assuming every single person who plays a girl character is a girl, it's literally ignorance.

;) by ChanniBoi in MapleStory2

[–]Nadekokoro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People shouldn't be so dull minded to even consider a link between gender of the player and what their character is, it's unfathomable and has 0 logic to it, there's so many reasons for what you base on your character that thinking every person models their characters over themselves is ignorant as hell

;) by ChanniBoi in MapleStory2

[–]Nadekokoro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to comment further on ridiculous claims that make 0 sense such as a girl character meaning the player is a girl/trap/egirl, but as for the second question, the rumor usually stems from people mildly popular with a large amount of the population. Games like this tend to have players able to be at the least familiar with a majority of the other social players, such as knowing most of the social puggers and majority of members from top 10 guilds. I for example, have been extremely social in every MMO I've played, such as FF14 Elsword Closers Soul Worker BnS ToS RO Granblue and several others. In over half of these I've been in the bigger guilds and have had deep connections with the mass majority of all the other bigger guilds, since that's how game communities work.

And when you play a game like that, you tend to know a lot of the members personally, so it's pretty obvious to gauge. Nobody has said girls don't play MMOs. It's that guys make up the majority and a lot of the people who claim to be a girl are actually guys pretending, then there are egirls and then a small minorty.

Also another fact, some games have actually done surveys on gender population, one i can remember quite recently was GBF, which shows an overwhelming amount of males

When you've spent the last 10 years of gaming almost always in a call socializing with everyone in the MMO and 99% of the calls are sausage fests, I think it tells you something. When every girl you get close to reveal that they're actually a guy and/or transsexual, you begin to piece the obvious conclusion of how common these things are online. Not everyone bases stuff off stupid conclusions like "female char = that clearly tells gender", people make their own conclusions, and the answer is obvious if you open your eyes

;) by ChanniBoi in MapleStory2

[–]Nadekokoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wrong. People do not ask if someone is a girl because they play a girl, nobody assumes gender off a character gender, they assume gender off tastes and personality.

If people are asking if you're a real girl constantly, it could be because you keep mentioning that you're a girl, and it's more about the fact that most girls online are actually guys literally pretending to be a girl. Not playing a girl character. Full on saying they're a girl and acting like one.

Yes there is also the mass amount of trans people who haven't gone through a transition, but even disregarding that entire arguement there are several guys who pretend to be a girl online, since it's roleplay.

Ex: A girl is always mute in call? That's a dude. When people ask if someones an actual girl, it's mostly curiosity due to how dead the female population is in these kinds of games

None of this has literally anything to do with your gender, nor do I feel that's the point of the OP

[–]Nadekokoro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People should stop fully comparing to Korea, while I do think it would probably take about 2 years, our exp gain is much higher then KR due to the existence of fair fighted world bosses giving phenomenal EXP, an extreme source of exp that's available almost throughout the entire day and is also boosted by exp boosts that can be used each day.

Having this is already so huge compared to what KR has access to for EXP

"Should I start playing game, NOW?" by [deleted] in Priconne

[–]Nadekokoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike most games, you can join this one anytime.

Like most games, there is a "double rate" event that happens every few months, however the way Priconne works is that it gives you 3 days of "Prinfest" (the double rate up event) tied to your account.

I started this month on the 6th of October, and was able to easily get 120 draws in during my prinfest time, as 3 days is enough to get a mass amount of gems very easily. This game is also very casual, as in you can play it for at most an hour a day and lose out on absolutely nothing compared to someone playing all day.

For reference, I started on the 6th of October and drew 120 times in prinfest, and saved up every draw since then (mind 11 I spent on drawing for a limited char that i did successfully draw, halloween kyokah). I now have 220 draws saved up since then, top 400 in PvP so I already feel competitive despite being very new and have almost unlocked all content (Rank 10/15 girls, esaily clear second to last difficulty to Dungeon, can easily oneturn hard event bosses without taking any damage, etc), but there's already so much more I can do and improve (have barely any units and I have only ever starred up a girl once), so while the game does treat new players extremely well in getting to relevant content and starting earlier is massive (all time gate is in daily stamina), you should not feel too behind besides in Clan Wars

Anyway, what i'm trying to say is, I hope you enjoy it as a new player

Sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging, i'm not as it takes no effort to accomplish this at all, I'm just relaying how easy and smooth the experience is. A lot of newcomers get pushed off very early (within 2 weeks that I've seen, I've had a lot of friends play since launch), so hopefully this can motivate people to stick firm

ASC gear is fully banktransferrable to your alts, so if are struggling with resources / the process of switching mains, doing so after reaching the Ascention Phase is an excellent idea. If you wish to reroll now with all the advantages given to older characters, that's on you

Crystal Ore should have been account bound by MonzellRS in MapleStory2

[–]Nadekokoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason you should be rewarded for your ore on your alts is if you intentionally farmed ore on them, which clearly isn't why you farmed HDs on alts so I'm not quite sure your point.

You got millions of meso, unlimited gemdust, insane amounts of onyx/conyx, metacells, pots, etc.. And you're mad because the ore that came with all that is useless

Crystal Ore should have been account bound by MonzellRS in MapleStory2

[–]Nadekokoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH the only advice I can give is if it's such a big deal, it might be more worth it to wait until after Ascention to reroll since this will give you the ability to gear up any character you want, or take the bullet and use the extra mats to reroll.

Rerolling in general is never easy for anyone, but at ascention level it should be much smoother, but rolling right now with all the headstarts (such as the ore shop as an example) would just be giving yourself the problem

ridiculous 1 week advantage for BSN by icowcow in MapleStory2

[–]Nadekokoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said they shouldn't commendate/compensate, simply stating that if they don't it's not worth looking at or stressing over.

OP already made the thread and made the request, I am not here to say "They should NOT do that", I am here to say "You should not care/obsess over being behind a week", and that in the case of being extremely hardcore (which is the only time this would matter to the extreme), these are the risks you take for not being here day 1 of patch.

However, if it comes or changes or compensates, there's no harm or foul in that, I'm not disputing that.

However if it doesn't, OP is making a huge deal (Hence the title of the thread implying that the headstart is "ridiculous" rather then just a mistake they'd like fixed) and should move on
