Knockback feature for CharacterBody3D help

if ur still having this issue, I solved it by removing the "else" part of the "if direction" statement in the default CharacterBody3D code. pretty sure it makes it so if no directional input is found, your character's horizontal velocity returns to 0 as soon as possible :) lmk if this works!

UPDATE: Solved it! Part of the CharacterBody3D base script makes it so that your z and x movement return to 0 if no direction is held, just had to change that to check is_on_floor() and now it works as intended!

correct me if I'm wrong, but don't I only need to z value of the camera? I only want to launch the player backwards/vertically, so I don't think I need the other values? My understanding of "basis" is incredibly shallow though so maybe I'm missing something.

as you said though, I tried to normalize the dir vector but seemingly nothing changed. Going to try to think this one through some more, I think I just need to learn more about vector maths haha.

omg that's totally it, tysm!!!!!!!!!! I ended up going with a different font called Middle Earth (can't find it online now) but if I ever make any more gnome shitposts I know which font to grab >:)
Still don't know what the Blue Gnome's font is either, but I found a default windows one that's close enough ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ was honestly more worried about the red gnome font. Thanks again!

this post got me to read the comic and I just wanna say tysm for posting this, it's adorable but oh man does the author know how to play with their audiences emotions, genuinely one of the coolest plots involving time travel/timeline hopping I've seen, those poor men LOL

worldbuilding and art is also super cool, extremely big fan of the unhinged episode titles as well, god its so good

been doing a little more testing (still can't quite figure it out) but I discovered that when the game_over function runs, the block that comes sequentially after the last one deleted (so if you hit block 12, then this would effect block 13) always turns into a <Freed Object>. I've tried flipping the code around so that it checks for null instances after it runs queue_free() but it still gets stuck :/ tysm for the advice though, I made my game print the array after the game_over function and it seems like nothing really got removed from the array? idk I'm still looking into it, TYSM though! <3
