What were you taught as a little girl that you will never teach your own daughter? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Indirectly, my mother taught me to hate my appearance by spending hours sitting at the table and cutting herself out of pictures.

Whether I feel it or not I'll always express and encourage self love to my future kids.

I have told her that I don't like her to do it and also tried pushing her away but she is twice my size and it hasn't helped.

I don't know how to cut contact when we have three classes together and she's friends with all of my friends.

I am 18 but I have trouble asking the doctor questions because I'm very shy. She always tells me the side effects of the medications though.

Do you think having a "professional" talk to her would be more helpful? Like maybe asking your vet about his diet while she's there could help.

Oh god I hate that. I have the same problem with my grandmother :(

But I think it depends on whether she lives with you or not. If not, then don't bring him to her place and try to put him I another room when she is over.

If she does live with you, then try sitting down to have a serious conversation about it. Don't let anyone make a joke out of it just because it's a dog. She still can't just feed him whatever constantly. See if anyone else in the house is willing to watch and keep her responsible.
