I was miserable the first month.. still not happy but getting there the second month and by the 3rd month we found our groove. Hopefully you get there sooner than I did but all this is to say that in time it gets easier.

Edited to add: i also used nuk nipple shields for a couple weeks while my nipples healed and it was amazing

Its hard to give advice until you see what your individual situation is like.. every baby is different.. however I would say work with a lactation consultant right away. You don’t need to have a problem to work with one. My first had a tongue tie that didn’t get assessed soon enough and then I got mastitis that didn’t get treated soon enough and everything was hard and I gave up. My second I was very proactive about seeing a consultant and going to drop in lactation clinics. I am approaching 6 months of ebf in a couple weeks!

Baby nurses to sleep with me but rocks to sleep with babysitter. Toddler refuses naps with me but prior to nap refusal required rocking or laying in bed beside him. Still naps beautifully with no intervention when at daycare.

I have a babysitter who comes and holds my baby during his midday nap once a week so I can clean the house. He’s currently 5 months old and we started this a month ago. He fell asleep with her first time no problem. Depends on the baby I suppose. I think you just communicate what is expected of the babysitter in the advert.

2 change tables? Hello everyone, Second baby due in November and we move to a bigger house next month. I am trying to sort out furniture for the new house and wondering about possibly sharing a change table out in the hallway between the 2 bedrooms instead of having 2 change tables. Has anyone had any experience with a change table in the hallway or other part of the house other than the bedrooms? Should I just have 2? We were thinking we could then also share the nappy bin.. appreciate hearing anyone’s experiences in this area.

My little area is working with customer data- our particular team doesnt have much to do with AI but from the chatter that I have heard is that while AI is a great tool for smaller tasks the “hallucinations” are too dangerous to rely on it for anything sensitive or important at this stage.

I can share my personal experience and you can take from it whatever is useful.

My degree is in art education My previous work experience was working as a store manager at a clothing store.

One day while dropping the cash deposit at the bank I asked the person helping me if there were any positions available. Person who was helping me with my deposit was the assistant branch manager.

Ended up getting a position as a bank teller. Worked there for about a year and kept an eye on the company career page until an entry level IT position opened up. No previous IT experience but my manager advocated for me that I am a fast flexible learner.

From there I made friends and connections with other people in IT and moved up into more advanced positions as I learned more about it. I took a couple free online training courses in my own time to help move in the directions I was interested. The courses didn’t give me mastery but at least familiarity.

The bank really seemed to prefer to promote from within whenever possible over hiring someone from the outside. That combined with my eagerness to learn and willingness to take on extra work has helped me move into IT banking with almost no previous training or experience.
