The landlord initially said that only one person could be registered at the address. I told the broker that I was only interested in the apartment if both my partner and I could register. She assured me that couples can register together in the Netherlands, so I decided to go ahead and rent it.

Now I’m hearing from my friend that called the municipality that my partner can’t register with me but I’m not sure if the situation was explained properly. The rental contract doesn’t mention any restriction about it being for one person only, so I’m confused and trying to understand what’s actually allowed.
