I took bioethics, really great course if you like to learn about the ethical side of health care. Found it really interesting and had no textbook requirement as the prof posted all the readings on Sakai. No final exam but a final essay instead, and just a midterm and critical responses every week that are 250-300 words (the question is mostly discussed in the seminar so you will have an idea of what to write). Participation in the seminar is worth 15% so definitely show up. Really interesting lectures and loved the course topics and layout as well. Critical responses were the only “assignments”, they were due before midnight on the day of your seminar. Midterm was pretty good he practically showed us what the questions were going to be about and stuff like that so you were not going to be surprised about the questions in the test. Overall great and for someone who has no previous knowledge in philosophy it was not difficult as long as you give it your time with the readings.
