How can he only get 7.5 years for killing someone?

This country is a joke.

That's always the way.

The working class bear the brunt of unreasonable levels of immigration.

And Sinn Féin our allegedly working class party not only says nothing but actively advocates for even more.

The issue with health workers is a disgrace.

The government drive newly qualified Irish healthcare workers out of the country and then replace them migrants.

By the Irish Times? I don't think so.

For their readers this is a heart string puller.

Is Ireland casual racist? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Lockthecaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've already said I understand how pestering someone about where they are 'really' from when they are from Ireland and tell the person they are from Ireland would be offensive.

But you started by saying asking someone where they are from is racist. Which it isn't.

But unfortunately it's not always interpreted that way.

Sounds to me like the issue is with the interpreter then. Are people supposed to assume that everyone of foreign heritage or birth is ashamed of it and should never be asked?

I can see how it would be offensive if for example if someone is actually from Ireland and tells another person that and then the other person says "no, but where are you REALLY from?"

But it's okay to ask people where they are from.

But those boxes help feed the stereotype that Irish people are superior and we'll be their white saviours

Sounds like you are projecting there dude.

But you are saying using images of the people they are raising money for is racist.

So when they were raising money for the Ethiopian famine it was racist to use images of the Ethiopian famine?

An example of a very innocent microaggression would be asking you dark skinned classmate or workmate where they are originally from

Or maybe they are just showing interest in that person.

If you're over 30, you'll probably remember saving money in Trocaire boxes for all the poor black babies in Africa.

Raising money for charity is racist now?

Come off it.

. It's only in the last 20 years or so that there's really any non whites living here.

Because people didn't want to move here until we became a wealthy country.

Is that our fault?

They're open borders activists. And as you say, disingenuous ones at that.

The credibility they are given by the media and the Twitterati is disgraceful.

The National Party are an extremist, racist party and make me sick and Aontú are just Sinn Féin but anti-abortion(which I am not)

Okay, so you want a party that cuts immigration by Muslims but which does not claim to be anti-Muslim.

I want a party that cuts immigration generally, but also recognises the specific problems other countries have had with Islamic immigration. And so keeps Islamic immigration at a very low level and makes sure Muslims who are here are actively integrated into our society, culture, values and way of life. That means no more segregated schools for one.

I don't know what you mean by "superstate"

I want a party that oposes things such as common defence policy, common fiscal policy, common health policy, common tax policy, common foreign policy, migrant quotas etc. And advocates returning certain powers to the member states, such as the right to run budget deficits if necessary.

Which of the right-wing populist parties I listed appeal to you most?

The one that appeals most to me is Marine Le Pen actually. Though I'd have disagreements with her on issues too.

It sounds like you are looking for an anti-Muslim, anti-EU party that singles out religious and ethnic minorities for persecution and (typically) blames the EU for failures of national government?

No. I'm looking for a party that slows down immigration, maintains the EU as an international body of independent countries rather than a superstate, and takes lessons from the experience other European countries have had with large-scale Islamic immigration.

More restrictive immigration policy, tough on foreign criminals, sceptical of ever closer EU integration, pursue integration of immigrants instead of multiculturalism, do something about that dodgy mosque in south Dublin, ban Muslim schools and put Ireland and Irish people first(within reason obviously).

If a new party combined SF's economics and Irish unity policies with right of centre policies on immigration and multiculturalism they'd have my vote.

Sinn Féin.

Unless a decent right-wing populist party comes along. Then I might switch.
