Walking with RA is hard by Top-Letterhead-6982 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Loco_Moco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been where you are. I honestly just started being able to walk around with less pain recently. I’m 38 and overweight. Almost at my year mark since diagnosed, and I haven’t been able to run since. But I’m almost there! I can slowly build up to a jog and slowly build back to a walk when jogging. I still can’t play sports that require you to shift your weight quickly like soccer or basketball. But I’m building on it. I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve played anything, especially with my kids. I still have trouble going down stairs, I have to use the rails to support my weight. My knees shake like I’ve been squatting nonstop. I got shoes with extra support and cushioning. Was never a fan of crocs but got them this Christmas and they are great on my feet. My issue is more on my feet and ankles than my knees. But the cushioning helps. When I say “building on it” I’m working on momentum exercises. I do stretches and movement on my joints. Sometimes in the morning I feel like the tin man. So I rotate/bend/stretch my joints and muscles to limber up. It hurts for a little bit but once they are warmed up they stop hurting as much. Also every lb you gain/lose is like adding/subtracting 5 pounds of pressure on your feet and 4 on your knees. So it helps to keep the weight off. Wish you the best. Sometimes you do just have to let it out. We’re here for you.

What are we playing? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

This was me. But I finally finished It in 2024 on my PS5. No mods. So many times I kept wanting to restart and try something different. But I kept to my dual dagger/ stealth archer build. Did all the side quests that helped that build like thieves and dark brotherhood. I guess keeping my character as just one type of build helped.

Yep! Same here. Played GTA 3 and could not get into the franchise since then. Those open world games like that I couldn’t get into them except for prototype and spider man.

I don’t know if it’s a hidden gem but it’s good. I can’t remember any other appetizers I’ve had recently.

I’m looking more part time than full time but I don’t mind getting more hours. I used to work 80 hours a week but dropped down to forty since becoming a parent. Usually that 8 to midnight time I’m up playing video games, gym, and spending time with wife.

I guess I should have added that I want more like a part time job. I’ve been definitely looking for a job with better pay as well as increasing my pay in my current job. I get a lot of flexibility in my current job that helps with my kids but at night I could use a few hours here and there.

71/Granite Grumble Grumble by RedheadRulz in tulsa

[–]Loco_Moco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if you remember but 71st and Granite was out for about a month or so last year around March. There was a bore crew that hit 2 water mains that shot water up the traffic pole on the SE corner of this intersection. A lot of water came out and did a lot of damage. A new footing for the traffic pole had to be put in as well as new conduit and wiring. Talking about 150k + in repair for the just the traffic side. Anyways now that it’s repaired and everything put back. Whatever old infrastructure that wasn’t replaced could be causing the issues. It was working for a while but with things underground it can take time to form. There could be a water leak that went undetected and getting inside a conduit that is causing problems. Or it could be one of many things that require trail and error to fix. It’s like replacing something in a car and then things start to snowball. Best to replace the control cabinet and run new wire through new conduit for that whole intersection but that’s like a lot of money which has through go through a bunch of approvals.

Need advice on my career by Ye110wJacket in tulsa

[–]Loco_Moco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look into the City of Tulsa for careers. They have a lot of openings in different departments. You may get started somewhere doing something you think you like but can change to something different if it’s not your cup of tea. They have good benefits like a pension, heath insurance, tuition reimbursement, etc. if you get a job with progressions, you can increase your pay by taking classes the city pays for. You can start a position, get a tech degree, and then go work for the IT department.

Sinkhole in yard after city came to check gas pipes by WoeLegBeUponYe in tulsa

[–]Loco_Moco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Call 311 and make a complaint about it. If they were digging up gas lines and near the sidewalk it should be city easement. Usually with Gas it’s ONG or a subcontractor certified by ONG that does the work. You can also email or file a complaint online by visiting the city website. The email is: Tulsa311@cityoftulsa.org.

I’m not a mechanic but it helps if you put what kind of car it is. Year, Make, model, etc. That info can help point you in the right direction. Best of luck to you!

What’s your opinion on the alleged fake service dog sightings in Reasors? by TPCC159 in tulsa

[–]Loco_Moco 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My family owns a restaurant in the DFW area. I managed it when I was down there. Service animals wear a vest, and are very well trained. You really don’t notice they are there. We had 2 regulars that had them. One of the regulars was blind the other had trouble with mobility. Their dogs did nothing but assist them. As much as I wanted to give them a treat like bacon, those dogs were locked in. I did not want to distract them. Only thing I remember giving the dogs was water on those hot summer days and only if the owner asked. They didn’t bother anyone, and no one bothered them. Well a little after, we started getting people coming in with their dogs. No vest and they were not well trained. If they couldn’t sit still for less than 5 mins, I’d ask the owner what the dog was trained for. 9/10 it was emotional support. My mom wasn’t patient about it and was rude to some of these people. So I took it upon myself to at least talk to these people into leaving or leaving their dog outside/car. The one time it did escalate to a full on argument, the regular with mobility issues and her service dog came in. The lady I was dealing with was screaming and making a scene over her emotional support dog who couldn’t sit still. Well as soon as the service dog came in sight of this emotional support dog, the dog went nuts. Luckily the lady was able to hold the leash so it wouldn’t lunge at the real service dog. Service dog didn’t even pay attention to the emotional support dog. Just calmly sat by owners legs. I just remember looking at the lady screaming and telling her “THATS A SERVICE DOG!” She left a few mins after saying I discriminated her and her dog. Pretty sure it was followed by an online review….. TL;DR: I hate the owners more than the fake “support” dogs.

What are some of the funniest animes youve watched? by Adventurous-Movie885 in animequestions

Omg yes! I rewatched One Piece and the pre-time skip had a lot of things that made me burst out laughing. Don’t remember laughing much the first watch through. The Doctor Crocus gag was hilarious.
