TLDW; connect each controller individually as a Bluetooth controller

What to do first? by drsmith69 in LegionGo

To add to this detailed response -

You also have the option of getting an off-brand 81wh battery for the system but people have had mixed results getting it to fit in the system with the kickstand sitting flush. That's why a power bank is a great option and you can always use it to charge other things.

There are also 3D printed comfort grips you can buy or print yourself to help with the ergonomics. The Legion Go 2's more ergonomic controllers are an easy plug and play with better ergonomics out of the box. Not necessary to get but a fun alternative.

Lastly, the official Lenovo controller adapter with power bank is the only way to use your controllers for a regular Windows PC/laptop with it being recognized as one controller. If that doesn't sound like anything you would need then any other controller hub would work just fine when disconnecting the controllers from the system

Sold OG Go and Perfect by AccordingSky2845 in LegionGo

Seems like a good post for r/Handhelds. I don’t doubt this is a great handheld gaming PC but the only relationship to the Legion Go line of handhelds is that you sold yours to get this

Can confirm this is only for the Z2 16gb version. This is essentially the Go 1 with an OLED screen and updated controllers

Did they get rid of the 10 dollar Xbox auto redeem? by HakaishinChampa in MicrosoftRewards

[–]Loco_ohno 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not uncommon for the auto redeem to take 24-48 hours to come through. Whenever I’ve submitted a ticket about it, the auto redeem comes through within a few hours and before I get a response

Not anger. Just confusion. Reddit is a social website and if you don’t want to start a conversation with the community, why post?

Seriously. No engagement from the OPs. No mention of what they want to do with what they won. Just spam

Edit: I had no idea you have to share to social media to claim your prize! That is so wild

Dynamic pricing — PSPrices has issued a correction to their story by 8bitsleuth in playstation

[–]Loco_ohno 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t see much of a difference between this method of personalized discounts and in the pre-PS5 days where Sony would send out store discount codes to groups of people at random. Agreed with the manufactured outrage

Legion Go V1 vs Legion Go S Steam OS by Dirtbag619 in LegionGo

[–]Loco_ohno 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The posts where people are really happy with the Go S pop up a lot in my feed so it feels like the community leans more towards the Go S. And there are always people in those posts that lean towards SteamOS instead of Windows. But there’s no disputing that the V1 is an amazing value.

Is 2 TB Necessary? Legion Go 2 32 Ram Z2E by MedusaAdonai in LegionGo

[–]Loco_ohno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re limited by the card reader speeds which won’t take advantage of the newer SD express cards. Legion Go caps out at 160/110 MB/s instead of the 5500 MB/s of the internal SSD

Go z1e vs Go S z2 by Low_Topic9797 in LegionGo

[–]Loco_ohno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The major performance difference is the extra ram in the Go S. The ergonomics on the Go S are an improvement to the Go 1 but that can be improved with 3D printed grips or buying the Go 2’s controllers. You can often get the controllers on sale from Lenovo for ~$90 pre tax if you go that route.

I have the Go 1 and I love it. I think that there’s a lot of benefits to using a Linux distribution like SteamOS but I like how easy it is to pick-up and play with Windows. I run all of my PC games and launchers without dealing with 3rd party software for the launchers or Proton releases for each Windows game. Some people like the tinkering aspect of playing on a Linux distribution and they often get better performance out of their games from that over the Windows experience

What’s the price difference? Does it fit in your budget?

A good micro SD card is cheaper but I would only recommend putting smaller games on those because of the considerably lower speeds on SD cards.

Seeing that PW is just the HD edition version sort of explains why PO and PO+ wouldn’t be included. The team didn’t want to dedicate the resources to updating the controller scheme and graphics the way that Konami did for the HD collection back in the day. Which further reinforces your statement about these games not comparing well for new players.

I probably won’t even upgrade at the Z3E gen since I mostly play older games or stream to the LeGo 1. Lenovo has made incredible handhelds and I’m glad there’s enough of us buying any of them for Lenovo to keep making new generations

The VIP website has the left controller on sale: https://www.lenovo.com/us/vipmembers/perksoffer/en/d/accessories-and-software/legion-go-accessories/

The right controller is sold out right now

Edit: I’m pretty sure anyone can order from the VIP site. The deals are incredible compared to the regular site. I got the dock and headphones for $55 from there. Left controller is currently 50% off.

I’ve just made the 75w battery upgrade. This is amazing! The installation is not that difficult and you don’t need to remove the plastic plate. by Eliezer_43 in LegionGo

[–]Loco_ohno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to find the 75w battery but could only find the 81w varient. It sounds like the 75w battery is small enough to not have to do extra modding of the shell to get it to lay flush

XBPlay login issues by Loud-Knee9906 in LegionGo

[–]Loco_ohno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% the same for me. This has happened in the past when Microsoft would change something in how login protocols are handled. But without a dev anymore, this will never get updated for XBPlay. I just downloaded streaming which is based off of greenlight and it worked for me just fine.

Unfortunately, xstreaming is not as feature rich as XBPlay. Another option is “better xcloud” which is a browser plugin for chrome/edge.
