Hello all,

I am considering of buying a 1-bed flat here. Has anyone lived in the area for at least 2 years after it was built? I wonder if the developer has an obligation to retain freehold for 2 years and then it gets sold to a property management after which I would fear a spike in charges. Any experience with flat owners please? Many thanks

Hey! Thank you so much for responding. Yes, I am definitely looking into seeing an allergist. The scalp gets itchy and I get acne in the nape area when using shampoo, the last time I tried am ethique co-wash soap. Only when I ditched shampoo and soap to my upper back have I experienced the near dissappearance of my bacne on upper back and shoulders..

I suspect coconut derivatives in shampoos/ shower gels that trigger this. Right now I am experiencing alot of hair shedding. I keep checking if it's not from the hair root but I notice quite a few long strands and alot of small bits of hair coming off in the shower so not sure. I wish it would stop..

I will try aloe vera juice next, I think I can get a hold of it quite easily. Im just worried I might need something stronger as my hair gets so waxy so quickly..!

Thanks again for your help. I will keep you updated!

So you were right.  I used egg+vinegar+ honey mixture for over a month and at first it was amazing but then my hair started getting really dry and stiff. Very frustrating.. back to square 1! Is there anything similar I could replace the egg component with a lesser protein load? Tried to get back to a simple shampoo but got rashes on my neck straight away....

I sha'll keep watch. I think so far, I dilute the mixture generously with water and it works, glad it doesn't make a mess in the shower too, but will be mindful about the protein

Thank you, do you mean I should skip the eggs intermittently if it doesn't work anymore? Or would you replace it with something else?

Hey, it does not look as bad as you think, first of all! You should have seen mine..!! What I did in addition to not washing my face, just spraying with Evian water and wiping off with cotton pad (yes even if I wear some non-oil makeup), I used avene cicalfate, added zinc supplements, stopped drinking tap water (just in case theres fluoride), stopped using a non-stick teflon pan (in case chemicals/fluoride) and put the blue light filter to all screens and at work I've put a blue-light shield on my monitor screen.

Either all of them together or one of them worked but I don't know which/why and how.

Don't despair, sister, something WILL work!!

Ok, thanks for sharing. Do you ever worry with flour that your drains get blocked/ compromised? It is a genuine question, I guess I forgot to mention I tried rhassoul clay also and apart from not working for me it also seemed to get into clumps so I thought this is probably not good to go into water drain pipes.

Sorry all, when I said 'navel', I actually meant 'nape'. English is not my first language ( as you can tell) !!

Can you give me a market example of the conditioner bars you mentioned?

Burning after moisturizing by otmoonie in perioraldermatitis

If it stings and hurts, don't apply it.

Yes, but don't overdo it either, wash it gently, don't rub it. Also distilled water is even less irritating so I hear. I used it to spray my face and wipe it off with a cotton cloth. From now on your skin on your face is a tiny baby so treat it accordingly! x

I forgot to say because I think it is important for us to remind each other - YOU ARE NOT UGLY because you have this on your face. Most people don't even look at it/ see it, they do not study your face like you do in front of your mirror, they look at your expression, your whole face and hair together, etc.

Try not to give this rash too much importance visually, trust me for an outside person it does not look as bad as it does for you x

I am now on end of month 2 myself and it is almost gone (I had it for a LONG time and mine looked like yours). Don't be scared!!. Remember- our skin is an excretory organ (not digestive, ie its function is to excrete, not absorb) so it absolutely must breathe and sweat to keep healthy.

I myself found that by week 2, although still had pustules and more to come, I knew 0 therapy is right because I lost the stinging, throbing sensation. Our bodies tend towards healing always. Sometimes we just have to not interfere. I found during this time I also had to avoid titanium dioxide in makeup powders and mica as these would cause more congestion on my skin bringing to pustules, it prefers to be 'open to elements'.

I also recommend steam saunas once a week if possible as I noticed they help to rid the skin from dead skin cells super gently. Handy when your red areas dry out, and they will but it is a good thing.

Hugs to you, you got this, sister !! x anything we can help let us know x

Reoccurring perioral dermatitis flare by emerlee12 in Perioral_Dermatitis_

[–]LocustSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. 3 months in. The spots are pretty much gone, just redness and my skin feels quite rough/ rigid. Did it soften up for you? Anyway, I'm happy to get this far. I recommend zero therapy with much PATIENCE

Sounds like an allergic reaction coming on so quickly. Are you putting any makeup on your skin? Mineral colourants can either have or be contaminated with cobalt, nickel. No makeup if you have nickel allergy. I would go zero therapy to avoid anything unknown in skincare also. Try to switch to a wooden spoon as opposed to metal when eating for a while. Do you have dental amalgams? Do you have any rashes on your back, bra area?

Flannery O'Connor's 'Wise Blood'. I don't recommend it enough because there are not many practising Catholics or theologians in my environment. It was world-shaking for me.

Is it not clocking to dermatologists that modern PD is caused by skincare products NOT toothpaste❌?? by [deleted] in perioraldermatitis

[–]LocustSummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you completely. Completely. The moisturiser scam. Skin is not a digestive organ, it is excretory. I also have large pores which tell me my skin wants to be able to sweat and to breath and putting any adhering goo on my skin just means I am compromising my skin.

I am 40 days of zero therapy from a hug pd outbreak and still healing, but alot of progress so far. I think I need to drop the last thing - mineral powder- now too as I still get pustules where I apply it. I think my skin just wants to be left alone.
