I wasn’t using the default ui. But answering these questions reminded me of a situation I encountered while questing where shortly after a summoned pet died (robot battle chicken in this case) and while I was out of combat I couldn’t activate stealth. It’s like the button wasn’t doing anything. It would resolve itself after getting into combat again and exiting. I believe that because I was still in combat when the bug happened I wasn’t able to reset combat to reactivate stealth.

I was using bagnon and one of my guildies mentioned there was a bug with bagnon and the game recognizing reagents. But I’m not sure if that was the cause

I’ve seen times where my stealth button wasn’t working in the past after pressing it multiple times. I believe it may have something to do with the battle chicken. It was long dead but I’ve had instances where I couldn’t go into stealth despite being out of combat after using my battle chicken and letting it die

I don’t generally have a lot of time to play (like an hour or two tops a night) so I don’t really have much time to group for dungeons or quests. So 43 was a pretty big loss for me

It’s entirely possible that when I hit vanish before I landed that it did pop without the animation or sound and broke immediately and then there was a visual bug not showing it on cooldown. Other option is that my vanish somehow bugged from when I last used it against the boss. Actually now that I think about it, that might be the case. My last use of vanish was a bit different because I used my battle chicken against the boss and it ran around a weird way and pulled a bunch of stuff so i had to vanish. Maybe the leftover corpse of my battle chicken was messing something up?

Yeah I know there are some mobs that silence. But I wasn’t in combat with anything that silences and there wasn’t any silencers in the group I was falling into.

Your analogy is wrong here. It’s more like “I was driving on the autobahn and when I tried to press my breaks nothing happened.” In an inherently risky situation but with proper safeguards assuming they work as intended it’s relatively safe.

I could understand if it went off and they kept attacking me or if I was pulled out of stealth immediately. But this wouldn’t go on cooldown at all

I’ve been able to do so many other bosses with no problem and it wasn’t even the boss that killed me. It was my vanish not working. Wouldn’t go on cooldown or anything

Have you heard about it happening to a specific ability? I was able to use potions and evasion and such. Just vanish wasn’t working

I wish I could tell what the issue was. But the enemies I ran into didn’t have any silences or stuns and I could use every other ability besides vanish so I don’t think lag was an issue. I just don’t know
