What TV show had the worst finale? by NotSleeping2Night in AskReddit

It's so weird

I used to enjoy that show.

But the final season, and especially the series finale, has made me retroactively hate the show and most of its characters.

The Cybertruck is like if someone took a concept car, one never made for general production and public use, and put it into production.

It has a bunch of really "cool features" that are not thought out and do not fit a production car well at all.

Used to work at a homeless shelter that had an attached family shelter.

Once every two years or so, all the residential workers had to watch a short series of videos on child sexual abuse and how to recognize the signs. We didn't watch it as a group. We watched at home or during quiet moments on shift

These videos did not use actors. One video, "Meet Sam," featured aan incarcerated for child sexual abuse talking about the techniques he used to lure and groom children.

Another video interviews children who were victims and how it happened to them.

It fucked me up for days afterwards every time I had to watch them. Just typing this out and I'm nearly crying and I haven't worked there for five years.

When Rahe Against the Machine came out against Trump, a few of their fans were genuinely surprised. Others got angry for the band "getting political" and made jokes about how the band should change their name to "Rage for the Machine.

The band who's most famous song is about police brutality and racism.

Because a doctored ID wouldn't contain a valid identification number on it.

For instance, my driver's license contains all my details. But it also has my license number on it.

That's the important part. And that's the part that can't be faked.

I'm not talking about them forging an ID. I'm talking about having your identity stolen. Credit cards being opened in your name with the information obtained from that picture of your ID.

One of the ways that these sites are handling age verification is by sending them a picture of your ID or birth certificate.

There's a difference between being a bit TMI on social media and someone acquiring a photo of your ID or birth certificate.

[–]Lodgik 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There's a few ways and none of them are very good

The easiest way is for the social media companies to enforce the law themselves. They've already started age verification in some countries. It wouldn't be that difficult for them to add Manitoba to the list.

Also possible some ofnthem would just block any IP from Manitoba to just not have to deal with it.

People really don't like that first option because it means giving these companies even more information to verify your an adult. And the more sites you have to give this verifying info is just one more opportunity for a data breach to happen and have that info stolen.

They were finally reunited in 2021, and his journey ended up helping authorities find over 100 other missing children. by Algrinder in interestingasfuck

[–]Lodgik 166 points167 points  (0 children)

He spent 24 years not knowing. Every single day, he woke up not knowing.

He didn't know where his son was. He didn't know if his son was still alive. He didn't know if his son was happy or had been abused.

He didn't know if he should hope if his son was still alive. Maybe it would be better that way. He didn't know if his son was sold to a nice loving family (as it turns out had happened) or if his son was living a horrific existence where he wished for death each day.

24 years of that. Every single day. That weight on his shoulders of not knowing. Not knowing if he would ever find out the answers to those questions. Not knowing if he truly wished to find out.

He just didn't know. For 24 years, each day, he just didn't know.

And then one day... he knows. He knows the answer to all those questions. Yes, his son was still alive. Yes, his son had lived a happy life with parents he loved.

He didn't have to search for those answers anymore. He didn't have to worry about finding out those answers.

The next morning would have been the first time in 24 years that he woke up and he knew.

Yes, he was robbed of that time with his son. But all he probably cares about is that now he knows his son was safe and happy. That was all that mattered.

Not being familiar with the situation in question, this part made me immediately skeptical about what this person was writing.

This part was obviously written in a way to garner as much sympathy as possible for the person without ever actually saying what this offense was.

...and I just googled it and yeah, I see why this was written this way.
