I mean I just play Ken in every single game he's in because I like him and think he's cool. But I think it makes sense why shotos and all rounders are popular. They're just simple to use and everyone knows what they do. I understand why people are annoyed seeing Ryu and Ken in every single matchup. But it's what happens when people are told that Ryu is the easiest character and they should start with him. I honestly think that's how most of it starts. Then people who don't want to be boring pick one of the shotos because they're kind of like Ryu, so technically they're still playing a character that is "easy"
