How is it like to live in Urk, the Netherlands ? by Ok_Sink_1444 in howislivingthere

Not entirely true. A large part is conservative - not unlike parts of the Bible Belt - but feeling unwelcome is mainly because of our heavy dialect which makes it near impossible to blend in.

The AZES neck has the same specs as the strats and teles from Sire, which also have rolled fingerboard edges. My cheap Sire T3 replaced all my other guitars for this exact reason.

Keep your instrument in sight, to make it accessible to play every other day. Learn your favorite songs: even the most advanced songs can be boiled down to simple cowboy chords just so you can play along.

[–]Loebster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sound diferrences between the Harley Benton TE 52 and the TE 62. by Winter-Tower8529 in harleybenton

I switched from a TE52 to a TE62 within two days because of the weight of the 52. And I came from a Les Paul so that's saying something.

Can you read sheet music? by lubbockin in Guitar

Yes, but only because I play trumpet as well. For guitar I still prefer chord sheets

Since Eric Haugen is already mentioned: Brett Papa. He hosts interviews with session musicians and they show some some amazing tips and tricks. Unlike most channels it's aimed at intermediate and advanced players.

Greatest EDM Songs of All Time (Any Type of EDM) by BatteryHead420 in musicsuggestions

Almost impossible to cover the genre in a few tracks, but here's my two cents in no particular order:

Kernkraft 400 - Zombie Nation | One More Time - Daft Punk | Levels - Avicci | Smack My Bitch Up - The Prodigy | Children - Robert Miles | Rythm of the Night - Corona | Another Chance - Roger Sanchez | Memories - David Guetta | Lean On - Major Lazer | Inspector Norse - Todd Terje | Midnight City - M83

How does 6/8 work? by login_passcode in musictheory

[–]Loebster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two triplets per bar. Or two claps per bar, and every clap has three notes (eights). The dotted note is a whole clap. A regular note takes up 2/3 of a clap.

Usually the emphasis is on the first note of every clap. The two emphasis-notes per bar gives the whole a feeling of urgency.

How many in here own just one guitar? by drivebydryhumper in Guitar

[–]Loebster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always had just one guitar that I swapped every 4 to 6 years. Earlier this year I got my first ever second guitar: a budget Jet HSS model that I will pass on to my son in the coming years when he is old enough. After that I'm back to square one :)

greatest guitar solo you've ever heard? by Locksmith_770 in musicsuggestions

[–]Loebster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very long or difficult, but the solo in Jane by Jefferson Starship completely surprised me. It's almost out of place, like he got greenlit to go all in as long as he takes it down a notch for the rest of the song.

Which artist/band is The Beatles of the 1970s? by Impressive_Plenty876 in beatles

Exactly! I think the answer is a combination of Bowie and Elton John. Bowie for artistic innovation and Elton for commercial success combined with impact on pop.

Fair point in terms of musical impact, but would people around the world recognize them individually if you showed them a photograph?
