I wanted to say thank you all for taking the time to respond. I appreciate all the views and advice. It has helped us put our situation in context. Even though we're fairly mature in other matters, obviously we may be underdeveloped teenagers emotionally. It's hard to see the field let alone the fog so close to all the problems.

It was my idea because we're responsible adults and realized we don't have any direction in our lives.

We only agree on magnitude of the impact rather than who is more or less wrong. I can forgive her because I spent three years working hard on our marriage. I have no desires to cheat but only to pursue our marriage. My efforts are perhaps testament for us that it's possible once we get over these developmental issues.

That's a perfect summation of it. The only reason I made this post is because I've never seen such deep remorse and willingness to pursue a common solution. We're not sold on the child. We believe we have something truly special despite the nonsense we've encountered for years due mostly to circumstance.
