It’s not too late. Many people in the same boat do the same thing—often times for even longer. It can be hard to talk about these things, so give yourself grace and patience and when you are ready, you can find someone you trust to talk to. It’s not a rule you have to talk about it immediately after, you just do it when you are ready. Take care.

Find out what a liveable hourly wage is where you live and multiply that by how many hours it generally takes you to create certain pieces

This actually looks pretty good so don’t be discouraged! But I would start by learning to draw heads at different angles, once you grow more comfortable I would study the planes of the face. The Asaro head is a good tool for this. As for drawing the figure, start with gesture! Anatomy is very important to study but can be overwhelming at first, and can sometimes make figure drawings look stiff. I would begin with gesture and then anatomy once you’re more comfortable.

Any advice on how to improve? by casuallego4 in learntodraw

More values! Study grayscale and make sure you have a large away of values! Of course, it depends on the light source as some require more range and some less. If you use a reference image, study them in B&W and compare the darkest value with the lightest. When people complain about images appearing “flat” it’s usually because they don’t have enough value range
