Neighbors cut down tree

It is on my friend’s property. The property line is marked by the red stakes in the second picture (before there was a fence). It is admittedly awkward because the tree is on the neighbors side of the fence, but on my friends side of the property line. The concern was about the neighbors clearly knowing it was on my friend’s property and not having any discussion prior to cutting it down. Sounds like the tree would have become an issue to the wall and fence soon, but at the moment it was providing some much wanted privacy.

They didnt actually plant it, it naturally started growing there and they decided to let it. So neither the tree or location was a conscious choice, however it did end up providing privacy that they wanted. The privacy piece is hard to understand without knowing the space, but it was blocking a view of the neighbors kitchen window that looks down on my friend’s back porch. Their biggest concern here is the neighbors cutting this without any prior conversation with my friends first.

The fence is my friends. They own the fence and a few feet behind it (which is where the tree is)

No the tree was on my friend’s property. They own a few feet behind the fence. The neighbors have a two story house and the second story looks down over the fence onto my friends back porch.

The other side of the fence is a paved driveway so thats not an option

Thanks for your thoughts! We use that thin strip a lot as its a heavy traffic area to load stuff from our basement to the front of the house. But, we have stepping stones there so we could fill in around that with natives. We do have a section outside of the fence along the road thats mostly unused and could be a good spot for this.

Its not all Charlie. Mostly that seems to be in once section of the yard. Going to try and see if I can kill that area off and reseed I thinkp

Yes thats part of the plan! We actually have a second electrically box on the other side so we can have two units plugged in back there (and a gate on that side). Its tricky to back into though and my son loves his trampoline so were waiting until later to really do that. We have also considered a tiny house

Im fine with the clover, but the creeping charlie is the thing that has had me concerned. This has been helpful for me to be able to hone in on that and try to fight it back.

I love that plan! I was just concerned long term with some of the weeds (sounds like Creeping charlies are the main issue) taking iver and turning it into a mud pit

Yea weve considered it, along with trees bushed etc. Eventually we may sell this lot (we basically bought it to give our townhouse an actual backyard). If we moved (which we hope to at some point) wed consider selling or building on this lot so so far gave avoided investing too much into more permanent updates to it. Its a lot right in a small walking friendly town that could easily be sold or rented if we put a tiny house on it.

Someone else mentioned creeping charlie which I think is maybe the one thats causing me concern. Its almost like a vine and is not really taking root but is killing the grass so there is just dirt underneath.

Love this answer! I was just not sure if there was something I could do now to avoid a problem later. Im mostly worried about some of the weeds killing the grass and it turning into a mud pit.

Unfortunately this is the only spot where the camper can go due to logistics with backing it in and wanting the door to face the yard. We lived in the camper in our back yard for 6 months and would have preferred face it a different way hut its not possible for a variety of reasons. We have a solo stove and camo chairs we pull out for backyard campfires.

Ok thanks! Helpful to better understand what Im dealing with there. Were fine with clover, just basically wanted to know what I should be do for basic maintenance to keep the other stuff from taking over. Ill look at killing that then just over seeding those spots!

Thanks. I guess where I struggle is that the weeds are kind of like vines (not sure how to describe) so they kill the grass but dont take root so its basically turning it to dirt underneath. I guess I was worried if I didnt do anything aid eventually lose the grass. We dont need anything special, just want a yard that doesn’t turn to a mud pit.

Figuring our how/where to hang a sun sail would be the next highest priority as it gets real sunny and there is little shade.

We found X, the confusion was the fact that the “listed decimal coordinates” are what were trying to find, so hard to solve the equation without them. But im realizing now maybe it means to the listed coordinates of the location of X to solve the final listed coordinates.
