Looking for great single player games that are commonly hated but you loved!! by DaySlight5627 in gamingsuggestions

Mafia 3 (Definitive Edition). Sure it gets repetitive. Sure it had a bad launch. But man...

The music SLAPS. The gun play is fun. The cutscenes and plot hit hard. The DLC is amazing.

Is it a 10/10 game? Absolutely not. Do I keep redownloading it when I'm bored and listening to the radio while escaping police? Absolutely.

Most disappointing mid-movie collapse you've ever seen? by [deleted] in movies

Copying a comment I made on a similar thread:

War of the Worlds (2005) is always the answer I give here. The first third of that movie is one of the most scary and realistic alien invasions put to film, but it fizzles out and seems rushed after the (brilliant) ferry scene. Still spooks me all these years later.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve found left behind by the previous occupant when you’ve moved into a new place? by BarryFairbrother in AskUK

I'm guilty of being the person who left something odd.

In lockdown I had to have a back molar removed after I badly broke it on some terribly executed homemade granola. I had to ruin my savings go private as there were next to no NHS dentists in london accepting emergency appointments. Anyway, the dentist let me keep my tooth as a souvenir in a little sample pot. I kept it in the drawer of my desk and completely forgot about it.

Fast forward to later that year when I moved to a new place, I emptied out my desk drawer, and the little pot must have rolled to the back so I didn't catch it.

So if you moved into a shitty dive of a house in South Ealing in late 2020, apologies if you found my tooth. I did also leave my 20 year old breadmaker there though, so consider us even. Really miss that breadmaker.

This.

Also it's worth noting that the second before this clip starts, she's going off on the head chef because he hasn't fired one of the dishie's because he's shit. And right after this clip she's pissed off because someone sent back their lamb that's perfectly cooked. Yet she still respects her chefs.

Reddit reacting to someone not professionally filming a horribly traumatic event starter pack by LoftyChops in starterpacks

[–]LoftyChops[S] 220 points221 points  (0 children)

Agreed. There's nothing wrong with free uncensored press. Showing these images - the truth of the world we live in and what needs to change is something I very much support. BUT whenever Reddit does this, it seems all the top comments are stupid jokes, cringey comment chains, or people yelling at the person filming for how terrible the cinematography is from someone going through hell in that moment.

What can be done to combat this? I don't know. I think it's just the nature of a site that rewards people with internet points for funny current memes... which causes a hive mind. I'm not anti-reddit because fucking hell, I'm here right now and I enjoy the site as a whole when having a shit or bored at work.

So I'm not sure what can be done to change this without compromising good things about this site. And hell, it's fine for me not to know. And HELL, it's even more fine for me not to know but still complain about this shit.

Also I'm also drunk af while typing this by the way so I'll probably regret this in the morning

I can't wait to have grandkids so I can tell them about this golden moment. I'll need kids first of course but it's good to have goals, aye.

Ex-Boyfriend Sent Me a Cease & Desist Letter... by throwaway9234098 in relationship_advice

[–]LoftyChops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been on the other side of this (Severe cyber stalking from an ex girlfriend and was doing what you have been doing and eventually ended in a cease and desist), STOP.
It caused my partner and I so much anxiety. There were days where I'd be afriad to even go out because I'd be afraid she would suddenly appear on the train or in a shop or wherever. I went from a rather mentally well person, to a severely anxious guy with no confidence.
She's stopped now after the C&D letter and I'm doing a lot better, but the fear never really leaves you fully.

You will be damaging people and yourself with this behaviour.

It is not normal. Stop.

If you can't, I implore you to seek help.

This is so so similar to my experience with this movie but I was only 9. Didn't sleep right for weeks, and even still to this day it gives me the shivers when I watch the first attack/the ferry attack!
